EDIT> IMPORTANT UPDATE W11 just sent these updates out 2025-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5050009) 2025-01 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 24H2 for x64 (KB5049622) Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. - Display - 32.0.13013.2002 (if you have this) Performance increased in my system. Check yours! What do you think about the launch? Subscribe for more videos. Let me reiterate: I know this is EA. EA will have bugs, its expected. But theres two points that naturally come out of something being EA. 1 - If EA is supposed to be buggy, then the bugs need to be addressed, so should be the state of the EA itself, otherwise theres no relevant info for devs. Not everyone will be in discords or devs forums 2 - EA also means paid game. If its "full price" or not, its not relevant. The devs choose lower prices, not out of kindness, but as a way to balance risk aversion from consumers and bring them over. EAs essentially means, customers are paying beta testers. Things will improve, but will improve faster with relevant, fair and good faith criticism, which this video is doing. Cheers.

Its an early access, I like early access, I dont buy e.a., but I understand what it's for and the audience they're trying to attract, youtubers, they read the comments, and watch the videos. Unfortunately with that said, I think some have forgotten what an early access is, and expect too much. You did fine, and that's information that can be used to make improvements. When it comes to titles like Rennsport, who've done esports events, the expectations are higher. Then you got others like lmu who use early access only to be a complete game lol. Ac evo is doing it right, which is impressive. Others, I'm not so sure.

Not beeing able to use all content in terms of tracks and cars (of course multiplayer, special events etc. need to be online) is a big problem. But even worse is, there was no word about it to be found. I was sceptical (and didn't buy the game yet) since they announced it, because I also got disappointet in ACC. I mean, I love ACC but it's the official game for GT World series and we still didn't get all tracks and cars from the series. And as someone who was driving against AI a lot, it was a punch in the face, that they started changing things, without even bothering to add it to the patchnotes and than at one point completely ignored development of singleplayer content. I somewhat hoped, but also was afraid at the same time, they would fix the AI for EVO and let ACC die as it is, but at least they showed that in the EA Version AI is even worse.

I agree with your statement here but don’t we kinda already know all this about EA? I expect to see some issues & we clearly see them but the formula is clearly there imho. 2 main issues Kunos needs to fix immediately as promised at launch 1- Get online server in order to play proper as advertised 2- VR is something that should absolutely be working for those player bases. Other than those 2 main issues right now I’m okay with being a beta tester

I think some of the irritation being reported comes from the fact that "Early Access" is now too broad of a term for what are several different types of Early Access launches, and people are getting a bit blindsided when they expect one and get the other. LMU for example was basically finished, just needed bug testing. DiRT Rally just needed more cars and tracks. ACEvo is a tech demo.
@BambeakzКүн бұрын
This. I don't only play simracing games so I experienced perfect early acces games like Satisfactory, Factorio and Manor Lords (1 dev ffs). Games that gave the players a nice playable and finished slice of the game and started adding content and/or modes to it. This is like dropping an alpha build into early acces and we have to be grateful for that (according to some fanboys). If they had given us only hot lapping right now on the 5 tracks and it worked great people would still be happy.

LMU had multiplayer from the early access ... even if it was broken for some people and wasn't for me, still doesn't invalidade this so called "early access" to make people pay for a game that isn't finished and can be like that for several years. I don't disagree with anything you've said in this video - it's all constructive feedback. That's what Early Access is really for and hopefully the devs at Kunos will address these things. Hopefully this will be the foundation of another great platform for mods like the original Assetto Corsa.

But overall, I think wild west of AC mods would, in any other scenario / game, chase more people away, than attract them. I feel like the critique presented in this video is the most fair I have seen. I've seen a ton of people completely shitting on the game, for missing content, having the attitude that it's a scam, and that the devs are lazy liars. On the other hand, there's a large group of people, who excuse everything and are basically happy that the game runs and works. I feel like the game's start is exactly as the title says. It's messy. People have a right to be angry, because they DID promise a bunch of things and DID NOT deliver. And it's 32€ for what right now is pretty bare bones. But, seeing as the game is in early access and literally on version 0.1, to me the performance issues are kind of expected. So is a functional, but incredibly hard to understand UI. As for the missing features, I suspect they'll be added in the coming weeks/months. What I think is important is that the engine works. We've got good FFB, physics are great, the car models look amazing. There's just a lot of kinks to buff out. But there aren't any game breaking bugs or crashes or massive problems. Adding extra stuff or tweaking small parts should be a lot easier than having to fix major problems with the game engine. Basically a lot of the issues that are present are down to this being early access. We're essentially beta testing for the 1.0 release. That of course doesn't mean that the issues should be ignored. We need to point them out and provide feedback and i think this video does a good job of that.
@mondodimotoriКүн бұрын
^this. This is the point of Early Access. Letting players test the game on a wide range of hardware and give precious feedbacks to the dev team. In return you get to keep the game for the reduced price of Early Access. I did this with the first AC, buying it for cheap in EA and playing it a lot with lots of feedback. Then I got to keep it when 1.0 dropped at full price.

The online only mode is quite simply a deal breaker for me. I simply cannot accept a single player game gated behind someone else's computer, that can shut down at any point. Unless they go back on this decision, I will not buy it. It is the same reason I never bought FM8, despite actually planning to originally.
@iceniracing18 сағат бұрын
There are good reasons for this IMO. And the benefits, if done right, could be huge. Kunos effectively decentralised AC and found a bunch of people making money that didn't work for them and brought in no revenue. I reckon they plan to tap into it. If they do it well, there are some win-win-win scenarios. But there are traps that range from win-dont-win-but-dont care to lose-lose-lose. This is an ambitious project. It's quite high risk but potentially high gain. And I don't just mean for KS bottom line. Fortunately they remain independent, and haven't been swallowed by a larger entity, so shareholder value isn't a worry. Thing is, If I made a game I'd have the same plans as them. Let's see how it pans out

One overlooked but small detail I would love to see added is AI moving out the way to break slipstream and AI blocking you as a defensive move at the corners. The Geoff Crammond F1 games had it, over a quarter a century ago. Really can't see why they don't implement it in sim racing games today.
@felipetartas5434Күн бұрын
The "always online" feature is already proving to be a problem. If every time the server goes down we have access to the game content cut off, well, that will be a big problem to be faced over and over again. If it's offline now, it could be tomorrow, at any moment. They should postpone the launch if the servers are offline. Regarding performance, this is another big problem. In racing simulators we usually use VR, triple monitors, high refresh rate monitors (I have a 240 Hz one). 60 fps can never be the performance target. Racing simulators have to be lightweight. And I'm not so confident that they will be able to solve all the performance problems.

Quick takeaways from my short time on it last night Cars felt great( use of fanalabs with acc profiles was really beneficial and copying similar in game ffb slider settings from acc also helped dial in the feel) Quality of life features were nonexistent or broken (triple screen check did not work) ddos attack really killed their launch hype and that’s unfortunate but it also exposes the online only aspect that not many agree with. (Which is an old point as we as a society are always connected to the internet) Performance for me seemed okay, didn’t run AI yet on ultra default setting. Side note simhub updating quickly to add some minimal support really helped with the feel for me as I run bass shakers. I’ll need to dial in that still. ACC early access wasn’t great either and it became a very popular title. Going into early access should always be taken with a grain of salt and the hype was a bit overblown by other KZbinrs/influencers and even the marketing.

I'm probably going to give it a few patches before I try it again. Triple screen just doesn't work properly for me yet, and it especially doesn't work with DLSS. Have to run it at DLAA to get it to display on all 3 screens and if you change the quality setting, the screen resolution decreases but doesn't stay full screen, just gets pushed off to the left side of the screen at what ever resolution its trying to display the game at

I have been playing with and enjoying a few of the new Custom FFB files of AMS2 1.6 and the free car Mods and tracks. I wish all the sims had better shimmer free AA. I have to use ReShade and SMAA with versions of TAA or CAA to blur out the distracting AA shimmer. I hate that shimmer.. I hate IT.. hate it... HATE IT! 😂. SUBSCRIBED.

@@adlibbed2138 exactly. its not good for gamers, or the artists that pour their heart and soul into games that cant be preserved. i still play plenty of old games, really old games. but only because someone else out their fought to preserve them. and luckily they dont require internet connections. im talking xbox 360/ ps3 games via emulators, im talking og xbox and ps2 games, ps1 games, n64 games, sega games, dos games. it sucks that a great game you paid for could be unplayable in such a short time because of artificially imposed limitations. software locks. paying customers should never have to suffer like this.

The FFB made me refund it. its terrible. T300RS (very mushy feeling) no detail at all. with core ultra 7 when i turned on dlss to qality it bmped up 20 fps at least. but yeah even with good physics and tire model its all pointless with terrible FFB.
@twflankerКүн бұрын
just set all those in-game FFB damper/damping/filter slider to zero or near zero.... It feels alright with more powerful DD wheel, but for less powerful wheel and wheels with built-in mechanical damping (ie. belt/gear driven), it just too much and took all the response and detail away. I have to drop a significant amount of damping despite I'm using a 5nm DD wheel.

Great baseline for the game handling and force feedback wise, now imo they need to start first with fixing performance, then from there fix the graphical issues and other bugs, then actual improve AI, and then improve on what they have They better not go like Cities Skylines 2 devs, that kept on adding features and fixing bugs and performance stayed behind, meaning I get way Better performance on Cyberpunk than Cities Skylines 2
@sebastian_berlinКүн бұрын
My take on the launch is the following: i am slightly disappointed. They announced certain features, like VR Support, Triple Screen Support, the academy, special events and economy as well as tracks and cars. The fact, that everything that comes with the online feature doenst work is sad, but something i can tolerate, as it is early access. Its annoying as the fun in the game is very limited right now, but i am patient and will wait for a solution. What i dont really understand is the state the UI is in. Its navigatable, but a pain in the ass to bind controls by device. I even have two tabs with the same name for my buttonbox, on one i have to bind rotaries and on the other i bind the buttons. Also when you announce VR Support and two of my mates with VR Headsets in the second they get into the main menu say, they have artefacts and 3 fps and cant really drive due to poor performance, expectations and reality are quite the mismatch. Graphically i am also quite underwhelmed. If i compare it to LMU, ACE is quite far off at this stage on my sytem. Overall the launch into early access was a bit underwhelming, due to unforseeable technical issues, the graphics/performance issues which are okay to be there in this state and the terrible UI/UX, which really should have been on the more polished side if you ask me. Lets hope they will be able to fix the server issues, so we can actually do something else than hotlapping. P.S.: Dont forget another terrible AI.

Never understood why a “unfinished early access” game is with a price tag…? If they want our feedback, just make it free or just 5 Euros or so… € 32 is not end of the world but losing money all starts with this mentality. If you count all the spent wasted money it adds a lot at the end of the day so I refunded because it was laggy as heck.
