I had to cover my eyes on that second race when you went wide with a deep sigh, followed by "ooh Chris" 😂 Great racing with @fano6307 and well done keeping it out of the wall! - I think I'd almost give Jon that lead and chase anyway, though it looks like he had the legs on you in the end.
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Absolute legend, thank you David, very much appreciated. Honestly, that overtake around the outside of T1 looked so impressive as I ran it through in my mind! By the time I had two tyres on the dirt, I realised I may have overestimated my ability a bit 🤣 Yeah Jon had the edge on pace… reckon I could have chased him and challenged him with a draft, but think it would have been a tough ask to stay in front of him. So well happy with 2nd 😃

Lime Rock's a tough one. Least said about the first one the better but huge congratz on 1st pole and a brilliantly hard fought very good 2nd place.
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Yeah I feared the worst going into it, and it was every bit as dangerous as I’d expected! Well happy with the pole though, purely because it got me far enough ahead to avoid the race 2 pile-ups! Cheers
@Hiroschima6 ай бұрын
I had to look away as the tyres went onto the grass into T1 then Chris, its a shame you didn't get the win but look on the bright side...you learnt from last week and came away with second in the end well done!
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Yeah I was really lucky to keep the two right tyres on track. That corner is horrible if you get on the grass completely…. Takes ages to find your way back to the track! Cheers 😃

Great video, Chris. It took me too much time to realize that starting in the middle of the pack was never worth the trouble. I'm not fast enough to qualify at the front, so now I start at the back and wait for all the carnage to gift me a better position. I doubt I'll ever get out of Rookies. Sheesh.
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
I got really lucky in qualifying for the second race, I caught a slightly slower car just in time to get a bit of a tow out of the final corner and down the straight… think it gave me a bonus 0.2 or 0.3 on the lap time. If I’d started on the second or third row, I reckon I’d have been wiped out for a second time! There are definitely loads of freebies to be had in this combo, just by hanging safely at the back. By lap 4-5, I’d already lapped a good 8-9 cars that were stuck in the pits after wipe outs.
@Daniel_cste6 ай бұрын
i found out that starting from the back is also really valid in AC, you have overtaken half of the field before completing the first lap. But Great Video as always Chris, the incident in the first video is downright comical i just had to laugh all the way through it. Car after Car just kept it flat into the incident, and you being in the center on top of that lmao😂
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Very much so. In that second race, I passed a good 7-8 drivers in the pits getting repairs on the opening laps alone. In combos like this, starting at the back and taking it easy will almost always give you lots of positions 👍

Smashing Racing bud, That first race though, that poor Alex was out of control and took out half the pack, it happens to the best of us. You kept your cool man under pressure its so hard to do. Well done bud. Those MX-5 are an absolute blast to drive in these races. All the best
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Thank you mate, yeah that was a comedy of errors in race one! Two times, I thought I’d had a lucky escape and survived, but it wasn’t to be! Glad I went back for a second try though 😃

@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Yeah possibly. Jon definitely has more pace than me, but Lime Rock is a difficult place to pass. Would have been a tough ask to get back in front, and stay in front. More than happy with P2 in this one. Cheers 😃
@doodlebeanz56346 ай бұрын
Great race Chris, that pressure from Fano is enough to send anybody wide mate, you did well holding him off until the pit re entry threw you off, unlucky there.I think holding for P2 at the end was the call to make there mate. First race, what a pile up hehe, hard to get through that unscathed. Good stuff as usual, looking forward to ACC video next!!
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Thank you mate. Yeah I was pushing so hard, in the unlikely event that Jon would make a mistake. But that near miss over the hill was a wake-up call… calm down and settle for 2nd! Cheers

I've just registered with LFM having got into sim racing last year from watching your vids Chris. I used Raceroom as my initial learning experience but recently became a bit disillusioned with the driving standards on there. It was great when i was getting up to speed but now I'm generally at the front and the aggressive, all or nothing driving really puts me off. I'm hoping the higher splits in LFM will have better driving standards but we'll see i suppose. 👍
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Nice one, I love hearing that people have got into racing thanks to my videos. Unfortunately there are poor standards in all sims, and LFM rookie series can be a bit wild too! I’ve been having a good run of races on ACC with LFM lately. Keep at it mate 😃

@ericjack32186 ай бұрын
Well done, Chris! Second place was well deserved. Jon Fano looked to have a bit more pace than you on track. Holding him off for the whole time would have been a tough ask. That first race and even the incident behind you on the second was making me cringe. I see so many other drivers failing to lock brakes when they have an incident!!! So much of that carnage would have been avoided if drivers weren't careening all over the place.
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Yeah, I agree completely. He definitely had the edge on pace, and I don’t think I would have lasted the whole race under that sort of pressure! Think I’d have had my best chance by chasing, and then using the slipstream at the right time. More than happy with P2 though!

@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Haha yeah. I was really nervous about doing the race a second time… another big SR hit, and I’d have been in danger of being dropped back to rookies on ACC too. Thankfully it turned out ok. But it’s so dangerous out there on this combo. Good luck, keep at it 😃

Yeah, those MX5 races often end up like this if you're in the middle of the pack and mostly there's nothing you can do about it. I do wish that yellow flag rules were enforced on the sims.
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Yeah it seemed like disaster was inevitable in this one! Yellow flags in sim racing are cursed… if you do ease off when they come out, chances are you’ll just get smashed from behind (or lose all your positions). It’s really tough.

That rejoin in the first race is absolutely awful judgement. Took out half the field.. You should report him - that’s a crystal clear penalty by LFM rules
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Yeah it was brutal. I did consider reporting, but I’ve tried several times on AC and they always get thrown out for not meeting guidelines. Not sure what I was doing wrong, but it ended up taking too much time.

how do you guys do .56? i cant get a low .57
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Luckily, I’ve been given a setup to use for this series from a community I’m in. It’s made a big difference to my lap times… on default setup, I was only managing a 57.5. I am clueless with setups so I have no idea what he changed, but it’s set up to allow you to carry more corner speed and get better runs onto the straight
@meecob6 ай бұрын
That rejoin was a noob maneuver. Shame
@chrisrogerssimracing6 ай бұрын
Haha yeah. Adrenaline pumping, the need to get back on track quickly. If the track wasn’t so crowded, I’d have been able to move over and leave a car’s width for him to rejoin. But at that moment, it was impossible. Disaster was guaranteed 🤣
