Librarians make good proctors. They're generally willing to do this and a library is a great place to take a test since there's wifi and it's usually quiet.

The cost of proctoring for an entire degree is much and will definitely demotivate a lot of students such as those from the "Developing countries". And I would like to make a suggestion for the sake of these students. The UoPeople should partner with as many libraries as possible because these libraries can effectively proctor the required exams. That's why as many libraries as possible should be utilized. The UoPeople can negotiate the cost with these libraries in a cheap manner and pass this cost on to the students. For example, 2-3 libraries may be used to proctor a group of students from a region depending on the libraries' capacities and the number of students involved.

@japjap2930 - There is literally a free offline option. You can use your local religious leader or a local school teacher. In my situation I had to approach a local church to provide a willing volunteer since my libraries refused to interact with universities. I mean you can get creative as long as the person involved is independent and upstanding.

Hi Fatema, if you are using a physical proctor, your proctor has to be with you physically when you take the exam. There is a process that will be disclosed to your proctor by which we will know your proctor is with you when you take the exam.

Hi Yousef, please note that your proctor has to physically be with you when you take your proctored exam. He or she can stay one metre or two metres from you per covid19 rules and monitor you while you take the exam.

Hi Captain Spaulding, we sent you an email on October 20 titled “Action Required:UoPeople portal is now open for you!”, please check your email' inbox and spam folder for that email and open it. In that email you will see a link, please click that link which will take you to a page where you need to create a password for your application. Proctor registration will only happen after you have been admitted and you confirm your enrollment, you are not required to appoint a proctor at this time.

And the option to opt-out of proctored courses is not an option for our students at this time as proctored courses is part of our quality assurance process. Hi Akoy, our classes are asynchronous, so are our exams. Students are given four days at the end of each term within which they need to choose a day and time which is convenient for them to take the exam. Each exam typically takes less than two hours to complete.

If you need to take our foundations English course, yes, you will need a proctor for that course. For all other courses in the graduate program, you will not need a proctor.

So, our masters/graduate students typically do not need a proctor, unless they need to take our foundations English course in their first term, in this case, they'll need a proctor for this first course only.

Hi Nawar, please note that the physical proctor is not paid. Only the online proctoring option is a paid services because that is a service provided by another organization we have partnered with to ensure those who are unable to find a physical proctor will be able to use this option.

Can we use a proctor online service that uses software to monitor us and not have to use proctorU. Anyone else find it a bit uncomfortable when doing an exam and someone watching through your webcam.??

Hi there, at this time only ProctorU is approved to be used as an online proctoring option with us. Keep in mind that the physical proctoring option is the default proctoring method, only those who cannot get someone to proctor their exams are advised to use the online proctoring option.
