Assistance Needed in Fail To Remain Investigation

Region of Peel - Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are appealing for witnesses or video footage after a fail-to-remain collision in Brampton.
On Friday, July 5th, 2024, at approximately 9:59pm, a collision occurred between a motor vehicle and a 17-year-old male victim who was attempting to change his tires as he pulled over to the side of the road. The incident occurred in the area of Countryside Road and Fernforest Drive in the city of Brampton. The suspect vehicle was last seen driving eastbound on Countryside Drive towards Bramalea Road.
The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries due to the collision and he was transported to a local trauma center.
The suspect’s vehicle is a silver colored 2001-2005 Honda Civic sedan. A right-side mirror associated to the suspect vehicle was recovered at the scene. A similar vehicle with severe right front-end damage shortly after the collision was also observed in the area of Abitibi Lake Drive and Appleaire Crescent in the city of Brampton.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses in the area who witnessed the collision, have dash cam footage, or are from vehicle repair centers that may have any information on the suspect or suspect vehicle to call investigators at [phone], ext. 2133.
