Hearing it out loud makes it seem so complicated but once you play a few matches it almost becomes second nature. Thank you for explaining this. I wish this would have heard this before my first game.

Joined a local league as a brand new player (2 practice games beforehand). Of my 5 league games plus my 2 practice games I've been told 4 different variations for him block assisting works. This video is the best way to describe it and makes it sound frustratingly simple compared to the alternatives which made me tempted to quit the game all together! Thanks allot for your help!

Excellent video as always. The only critique I could make is if the minis were painted all white and black or red and blue so new players could tell an absolute difference.

This is exactly what I've been missing for tabletop. I understand the theory behind it, but I've never had a more experienced player to explain and demonstrate it to me. Thanks for this. Now, I need to find some other people to play tabletop Blood Bowl with...

That describes 'marking' (each other) quite simply :) thank you. The only bit it doesn't clarify is who matters when defence and when offense. An offensive assist are the 8 squares around the attacker. The defensive assist comes from the 8 squares around the target. I am quite new and this is the bit that I'm finding isn't coming naturally yet aha

I think a lot of people will benefit from the clarity that you bring to this subject. Great work, thank you for putting this together Ben 😊

Block assists are the reason my skinks have as many casualties as my saurus. Well, that and the blessings of Nuffle.

I really would love to hear from you a list of clarifications of skills that muddy up the functionality of other skills. Let's say using frenzy against faul appearence. Do you have to test again on the second block? Just an example there.

A great explanation. Really hard to an explanation too as it's something you just pick up with experience and making mistakes. The main mistake I made was for example at 8:20 if there was a friendly player to the top right again that would unlock the other friendly player so he could assist again as the second friendly player would be keeping the enemy player busy. Trouble was this sort of daisy chained a line of player switching in and off assisting!

Only thing you missed is the cage jumper or line stalwart holding a pair of would be assistants. “He’s already marking someone” but you can mark multiples, correct

It is a shame they were painted. It was really hard to visually see who was what team, at least on my phone screen.

This can be a difficult concept to learn and, as your admirable video shows, can never be explained succinctly. I find it easier to remember how it works by thinking purely thematically in this case. Any player who wants to assist a block (offensively or defensively) is free to take a swing at the target, or aggressor, as long as there's no other opponent nearby. In that happy scenario, they can pile in and add 1 to the combined strength total. If, however, there is an opposing player breathing down your neck when you want to assist a block (offensively or defensively), you'll be too busy dealing with that threat to pile in and help your mate. Helpful?

The only thing I struggled with was seeing the red on the green maybe use a brighter colour than red. Great video otherwise. 😊

You missed one example that I have to explain all the time. When player A has a player next to target that is marked by a player B. If player Bs marking player is marked by another player from player A then that does NOT intefer with the supports. You can't check a chain a long chain across the pitch. I explain it as the furthest you can check is two squares or steps away from blocked or blocking player.
