I think the Seals are also dampeners for the Horsemen's power, like with Death when Basileus said that he rides without the power of the Seals at his back, or when the Lord of Bones said that because Death's mission is not for the Balance, he doesn't have his rightful power.
@TrueMastersandMorons5 жыл бұрын
While that is possible every thing we can find leads us to believe that the seals merely call all of the creatures of creation linked to each one. And it's simply the council that chooses weather or not to give their support and power to the Horsemen as they so choose. At least that's our thoughts. :)

Regarding Draven's origins, it's highly likely he's from England. "Draven" derives from the Anglo-Saxon word "drǽfend" meaning "hunter". However, the name itself is mostly used a surname. There are some people in England today who have it as such. (Of course, I could be wrong about all this)

Here's how I describe the seals by image. 1: Announces the Apocalypse. 2: Start to call the demons/angels. 3: Spread the diseases across the world. 4: Call the higher members of Heaven and Hell. 5: Unleash the creatures of the Abyss. 6: Call the Makers and the Wardens. 7: Summons the Horsemen.
@The_Raven_1685 жыл бұрын
In Darksiders II Basileus says this to Death: "You ride without the power of the seals at your back. You would not survive even the weakest trial of the realm." I think breaking either just the seventh seal or all of the seals gives the horsemen tremendous power. My guess is that it's the seventh seal that does the trick, since in the first Darksiders the first six were broken, yet it didn't affect the horsemen at all, which was Abaddon's intention. So, I guess breaking the seventh seal resurrects the horsemen if they are dead, summons them to Earth and gives them a huge ammount of power, so they can do their job properly. Also the Charred Council say this during the prologue of Darksiders: "When the Seventh Seal is broken, Four Horsemen shall ride forth to punish the wicked. Be they Sons of Men, Lords of Heaven, or the Dregs of Hell. All upon the Earth will be judged, and the pact forged anew."

Great Video, but you forgot 1 thing about the 7th seal. The seal contain some power of the horseman, you learn it in the DS2 when death speak to the lord of bones, and he says that death without the power of the 7th seal is no match to him hinting away that the seal hold some sort of power other than resurrecting the horseman.
@TrueMastersandMorons5 жыл бұрын

@@TrueMastersandMorons Well, I did some digging in the subject and found that in this page: darksiders.fandom.com/wiki/Lord_of_Bones they do confirm it that the seals does hold power for the horseman . This is a quote from the page: " The Dead King has shown himself to be rather aggressive and quick to anger, as he even threatened Death with destruction if he failed him. He also stated that until the seals are broken and given their true power, the horseman are beneath him." But yea, you weren't hallucinating or something, the lord of bones did state that.

(I am purposely being vague to not give away anything).. I am confused about the darksiders 3 ending. How it was even possible, who was it we actually fought (fake battle). What happened to our watcher (was she always that way or did she get possessed) and how did the charred council not know
@BjornV19945 жыл бұрын
Spoilers for those who yet have to finish DS3. I will leave some space so you don't immediately read my response. We never met The Watcher, from the moment she presented herself, it was Envy in the disguise of a Watcher, we are talking too. When the Seven Sins were freed, only six of them actually fled to Earth. The creature we fight in the beginning and assume Envy is most likely a victim of Envy, transformed to resemble and act like her, fooling every involved. My guess would be, although this is just speculative, when the sins were freed, Envy took one of the Watchers (probably for seeing the one that would be selected for the mission), transformed her into what she looked like the last time the horsemen faced them and embued her with so much envy that even the Watcher must have thought herself to be "Envy". Once the transformation was complete, Envy gave her surrogate the amulet and sent her to Earth. The only thing that Envy had to do, was steer the Council in the "right" direction and she could take care of the rest. As for how the Council could be deceived so easily. As Envy pointed out, they were envious of both horsemen and mankind, and seeing how she was the Embodiement of said sin, Envy had a very easy task in manipulating the Council and hide in plain sight. They were so occupied with their own machinations, Envy could slip past them. But in all honesty, I understand that people are having questions as most of this info has to be interpretted from a few lines of dialogue.
@AuthoressPluto5 жыл бұрын
@@BjornV1994 Good job!!! I'm gonna space out my reply too for possible (definite) spoilers. I came to similar conclusions with only slight differences. The other sins can create servants for themselves, I think this is what Envy did instead of kidnapping a watcher (check the beastiary online for the game for confirmation that they make their servants, though I don't remember seeing anything about the imposter Envy). The council created the watchers off of just the original watcher (Panoptos) so many of them look so similar that it wouldn't be that hard to sneak in, take the form of one and start heaping praises on the Council like she was heaping them on Fury to stroke their egos (and the Council has always had huge egos) and get on their good side. Envy didn't fool everyone, when Lust was bargaining for their life they straight out said "Spare me, and I'll give up the location of my fellow sin, Envy." After that, when Fury asks them why they would do that, they start talking about why should they protect Envy and how Envy has never experienced front line combat and when Lust says the quote, "She is the most pathetic of us!" they turn and look the 'Watcher' right in the eyes with a grin. My daughter is the one who pointed this one out to me during our first replay of the game.
@EPIcF0r3v3r5 жыл бұрын
SPOILERS yea these guys are right. Envy gave over her amulet to the fake and brainwashed to believe she was Envy, or what i like to believe is the possibility that this creature believed she was the original Envy who maybe split herself much like death can in darksiders 2, one side to confuse anyone trying to kill her and her 'real' form the Envious 4 armed houreseman looking being as the only thing Envy was jelous of was the power and connection the four horsemen have. Its funny that on my second playthough for the apocalictic trophy all the bosses, vulgrim, the hollow lord all know that the watcher is Envy. all the other Sins make jokes and talk about Envy while looking past Fury towards the watcher. you never notice it at first, or maybe you do but think that like the other watchers in the games and books they are all envious of the power they dont have. stranger still that Envy while taking on the counsil with all the power of the sins was still envious of Furry due to her having a family in her borthers, i think that is why envy looks like all the riders combined. not becasue of their powers but because of their connection.
@Northwite5 жыл бұрын
SPOILERS!!! It's been shown in Darksiders 1 and 3 that the Charred Council are very easily fooled. In the first game, they didn't know that Abaddon had planned his attacks out (but Lilith, Samael, and likely the Dark Prince all found out), or any of the surrounding logistics of Abaddon's plans (including who was involved, and to what extent, etc..). They were so easily fooled that they had to frame War just to suss out the truth. Even excluding Abaddon, they didn't even know that War found out about their plans for him, and their own corruption, and so they fell right into War's plan to have the 7th seal broken. In the 3rd game it's proven that the Charred Council has no idea what Death is up to while they have War imprisoned. Death was able to take care of his entire journey without any interference from them, which is bad for them because they are afraid of humanity and Death presumably succeeds in restoring humanity back to life. We also know that they have no idea what the Lord of Hollows is up to, but they apparently know that he had the ability to become something that could kill them. The Charred Council are too concerned with maintaining their power and authority such that they are very easily fooled because they are blind to anything but immediate threats to their authority. They don't even notice threats to themselves until it's too late and while they planned to take out War, believing he would discover they set him up, they didn't factor in his tactical acumen and willingness to do anything it took for the Balance and the Law. Same way they didn't think Fury was smart enough to be a threat to them. Death was probably the one they were most afraid of which is where their fear of the Horsemen comes from. As for Envy and the Watcher. Well, it's been proven that the Charred Council don't have Omniscience and can have the wool pulled over their eyes with little to no effort. They aren't Samael, who seems to know absolutely everything whether it's happening in the Present, the Past, or the Future. So it wouldn't be any stretch for one of the sins, proven to be able to manipulate pretty much anyone, to trick the Charred Council. Remember, Envy is just that. The embodiment of Envy. And who are the Charred Council envious of? The Four Horsemen because of their reputation (which they had before even becoming the 4, but only increased afterward. No one is afraid of the Charred Council itself, they are afraid of the 4 Horsemen who work in the name of the Council), and Humanity because of their Destiny. It would be nothing for Envy to manipulate the Council in such a way that she could take the form of a Watcher and be assigned to Fury. Fury, considered the dumbest of the Horsemen. Fury, whose pride and desire to prove herself made her the perfect choice to gather up all the rest of the Sins for Envy to absorb the powers of. But, just as War was underestimated, so too was Fury underestimated and the Council has made an enemy of at least 3 of the 4 Horsemen. War and Fury for certain. Likely Strife as well since he was doing some spy stuff it seems at the time and he knows of Fury's journey. Death will follow shortly thereafter once he reunites with his brothers and sister and learns the whole truth. TL;DR The Charred Council are dumb and Envy played them for fools. The Sins can manipulate using visions very easily and Envy set Fury up to collect the powers of the rest so she could have them for herself.

I also think the seals have to be broken in order (1 2 3 ect.) Otherwise why would abbadon break 6? Even with the generous amount of leeway you gave it. Those 3 are still unnaccounted for so that means they had no effect on the game. So they declared the apocalypse elsewhere. Why else would they need to be broken for abbadon's plan then?
@TrueMastersandMorons5 жыл бұрын
It makes sense that they would have to be broken in order, since Abaddon did break the first six. The only other reason to do so if that's not required would be if it granted some kind of tactical advantage to their plan, or was required for other reasons. (summoning of the demons and wardens only works if two seals are broken) or something, we dunno.

I don't think the 7th Seal can someone anyone, or anything, other than the 4 Horsemen. The reason I say this is that if it could, Abaddon would not really have any reason to break the other seals. For that matter, I think the Seals plot has a huge hole in it. If each Seal is responsible for summoning a specific party to the Apocalypse, and all Abaddon wanted to do was destroy the armies of Hell, technically all he would have had to do was break 2 seals. The one for the Angels, and the one for the Demons. We've seen that Abaddon believes that 7th is specifically for the Horsemen, so it stands to reason that the other Seals would be specifically for the others. Abaddon doomed his own mission by involving other parties.
@TrueMastersandMorons5 жыл бұрын
Just as a confirmation the 7th seal does ONLY summon the Horsemen no ifs and's or buts and that's all it does. If we implied anything more we apologize. Which is why it strengthens an idea another commenter had about each seal requiring it's predecessor to be broken before it could be (4 reacquiring 3 to be broken and 5 requiring 4 to be broken etc.) But then the question is how did War break the 7th seal after the first 6 were healed? does that mean that when Ulthane fixed them he didn't repair the protection to each one? Which leads to a whole host of other issues that is just too mind boggling to try and deal with. So we leave that to theorists and stick to what's confirmed. :P
@Northwite5 жыл бұрын
@@TrueMastersandMorons No worries about that. I think that indeed Ulthane only repaired their form, not their magic. Either that, or the order is more important to the Council and not exactly the actual battle.

I was both happy and disappointed with Fury's "Havoc" form. I was happy because it was so badass and those twin whips are amazing. But, I was hoping that she'd sport a "Famine" form, like how Death sported a Reaper form. I wanted her Famine form to coincide with the Biblical Famine--black, sporting scales (and using said scales as weapons) and generally look badass. What we essentially got looked too much like War's Wrath form and not unique ala Death's Reaper form.
@TrueMastersandMorons5 жыл бұрын
We figure the whip is Darksiders answer to the scales (to be fair, unless she was actually gonna use a set of scales, it was pretty much down to a whip or some sort of flail). As for the form, we understand, though it's pretty awesome whenever you're running it so we don't mind. ;p It did make us think of Kratos from God of War the first time though...
