Darksiders Lore: The Grand Abominations

I know the Nephilim claimed to want to have a home, but because of how the majority of them were basically a walking paradox, and so had no real internal peace or balance, they could have had a world hand-crafted to their very needs by the Maker itself, and yet still wouldn’t be satisfied. With that in mind, it just goes to show how unique The 4 really were: Fury was powerful, but deep down knew the pain of being weak like Humans; Death was always a warrior, but he learned that his home was really with his closest siblings, War found a stronger and fairer sense of honor; finding neither pleasure nor wholeness with just constant battle, and conquering those who can hardly fight back, and at last Strife... I don’t know him well enough, but something tells me his name is a misnomer: my guess is when there is conflict, he wants to settle it for good, and not let it drag on like their previous career did. That is just my opinion, of course.

POTENTIAL SPOILERS It's also implied that Death got the idea for the Grand Abominations from Lilith (probably indirectly). When he and War visit, War comments on the unlikely coincidence of the similar natures of the Abominations and Lilith's home. Death's response: "It's possible that some of Lilith's works inspired their own creation. I don't recall, assuming I ever knew." Of course, since we find out later it was his idea, I think it's safe to conclude that yes, Lilith's work inspired the creation of the Abominations.

Abominations are called that for reason, and again, for reason Death wanted to stop them. No doubt they came from evil idea and with no good purpose. But after all elder horseman did the right thing at the end.

I thought Chaos Eater, Harvester, and Scorn were abomination weapons as well since they could evolve and nothing stood in their way - well besides the Armageddon Blade that was the only thing capable of destroying the Seals.

Ah, I FINALLY got to watch this video! I had just queued it up and got as far as the spoiler warning before life happened and I had to go run errands. I swear once you have a kid you end up hating Christmas. All you do is shop for everyone else and my family is so lazy they won't buy me a present unless I'm there to pick it out, pay for it and wrap it myself... The Abomination Vault was a great book! It gave a bit more personality to the characters like Lilith and Azrael which I liked. It also had how Aba-douche lost his eye which was pretty great since we all knew what he would do in the future. Oh and War detonating the Angels demon nuke made me just laugh like a madwoman cause the cahonies on this guy am I right? I mean there was no way he could know it wouldn't damage him other than the belief that he's just that damn tough! Anyhow, Great video guys!

We do actually get the names of a few more Grand Abominations from Death aside from the ones you mentioned. Namely, Lamentation, Anathema, White Anguish, Gravesire and Bleak Tranquillity. Granted we never learn what they do, so it may not be too important.

Isaac would go for Mortis because his aim is garbage IRL, plus he usually plays tanks. Tarren leans toward Mercy because Earth Reaver is unbelievably gross. Dead hands holding his hands are just... not... ok... plus, instant kill shot.

Those aren't abominations. They are forged by the Nephilim, but they aren't Grand Abominations. We incorrectly labeled the sword as an abomination in a previous video somewhere (We think we corrected that in the description), but the book does specifically note that neither it, nor Harvester are Abominations. They are merely powerful weapons forged by the Nephilim.

SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO DIDN'T READ THE NOVEL!!! DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER!!! To those who have read the novel, do carry on. Not to mention how Death using Mortis to block Black Mercy barely felt the effects of the gun. But when forced to block with his scythes later due to lack of time, he is paralyzed completely for at the most a few minutes! The only reason he wasn't shot at again was because the bad guy's 'lady friend' waltzed in injured as the perfect distraction. The fact that this shot didn't kill Death and only paralyzed him for a few minutes is crazy! That it is more impressive still than blocking with Mortis in my opinion.

I'm guessing you either haven't read the novel I'm talking about, or haven't played the game. He isn't an undead creature in the Darksiders series, he's a living being. I mean when he's hit in the game by enemies you see blood splatter. Or perhaps you're just trying to be funny, and the joke landed flatter than half the angels in this series. Finally I don't wanna argue about anything, especially when I've just woken up. So I dunno what your point ultimately was, much less the purpose of the comment, but I've said my piece and shall move on already.
