I crushed my tibial plateau last year in a crash. Its now 19 pins in 3 plates to form my knee joint lol. Im busting to ride again but have protruding metal that makes my skin "bump out" in spots. I need to find someone that stocks these so I can try them on. Fitment is so important now incase they rub on the protruding points etc. Im STOKED to see the tech in them coming along and becoming much lighter and adjustable. Esp adjustability. Just gotta find a stockist in Australia without having to travel 300klms if they don't fit right.

These knee brace videos are excellent, thank you, I can't decide between the C-Frames and the Carbon Cell 1, I like the single hinge system on the Leatt, but the CC1s seem to be lighter. What's your pick between the two?

Those are both elite options, I would say as far as protection goes both are about equal. However, the Asterisk are so light and comfortable, that especially if you do day-long rides I would suggest shelling out the difference in cost to reap that benefit. If you are an MX rider who just does a few motos then is done for the day, the Leatt should be perfect for you. I hope that helps! -Zack

I’m curious about how they fit up next to the tank during squeeze. I’ve been considering the Leatt C frame for that purpose but have had some reserves on ordering just yet as the C frame doesn’t feature the inner hinge. These CC1’s look promising.

The C-Frames don't have any inner hinge, but they still have the large pad on the inside to help grip the tank/frame while riding. However, these Asterisks will grip the bike just like most other dual-sided knee braces on the market. It will mark up your bike and wear through your riding pants when gripping and riding properly, but again - so will most knee braces as that is the trade off for full knee protection. How would you compare the CC1's against the Alpinestars Bionic 10? Seem similar and priced about the same.

what's the leggings that model was wearing under those braces? Long sock or compression pants? what is recommended to wear underneath those braces?

Some companies make extra long thigh high socks/leggings to wear under braces.

760 bucks?? HAHAHAHAHA! Hard Pass. Carbon Fiber is so over-blown. There is no way this shit should cost that much today. Manufacturing costs have come waaaaay down now, but the prices have remained stupid. So you can keep 'em.
