Haruka ( lead guitar) started playing at 10 yo. Wrote this at age 12 . They recorded it when she was 14 and she is 15/ 16 in this video.

Saw them live 3 times last year, once in California and twice in Japan. All three are beasts live and close up.

LOVE this track. Love this band. They're all ridiculously talented. Haruka (Hal-Ca) on guitar, Miyu on bass, and Miyu's brother Mio on drums. Great band! Pretty much can't go wrong with these guys. Hal-Ca has started singing (with the boys on back-up vocals) and there's a few MVs out there, "Shooting Star" and "Fiction" are great. Another instrumental that's EPIC is "Dawn" Here's the definitive version (at least that I've seen). kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKa0gal_g6-Wd5I Thanks much Tim!!! 🕊

All 3 are graduates from the Yamaha Institute of Music. The guitarist wrote this when she was 12. Twelve.

Love me some Asterism! They're Japanese, and way underappreciated. The first two albums were instrumental, but Haruka (the guitarist) has started singing on their latest release. I absolutely prefer the instrumental stuff though, as this is where the complexity of their songwriting really comes through. The best album by far is their second one; _Guernica+a._ Truly an instrumental progressive metal masterpiece. But my favorite single song is _Dawn,_ from their first album. They have a couple of live studio versions on their KZbin page, but I prefer the energy that they (well, Haruka at least) bring when performing in front of a live audience, so I would recommend going with a fan recording such as this one (despite the audio not quite being studio quality): kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKa0gal_g6-Wd5Isi=mUjVW1cXIdF34v4O

lol, i had actually tried to recommend this band to you a few days ago, but YT ate my comment , and i didn't have the energy to type out the whole comment again 😂🤘 this has got to be my favorite band to emerge in the last ... [looks at watch] ... really long time. Dawn is the the big one. aaaaaand, it looks like some other commenters have already got the other recommends taken care of, so i'll not repeat. Great band ; criminally under-exposed/appreciated. Pro Tip: the "360 Battle Sessions" actually let you move the camera while you watch the videos (not to be confused with the non-360 B.S. vids, which, obviously, do not)

Asterism is one of my favorite metal bands, but this song is one of their least favorite songs of mine The songs Church and Gunfire - Live in studio 2021 are bangers and masterpieces ❤🤘

Blaze, Unravel, Fiction (Hal-Ca sings!) 155, Dawn, Full Throttle, Yunagi, Church, Hey Kids, Stars, The Trooper (Iron Maiden cover). DO NOT Recommend Stardom. At all. Not even a little bit.

oh, Stardom isn't _that_ bad ; and, i find the video to be fun and endearing (albeit very DIY 😅). besides, if you take that video and mash it together with the video for Shooting Star, a very compelling story starts to emerge, particularly if you preface it with the Music Revolution performance of Rising Moon from way back (okay, i'll admit i'm getting a bit sappy , so i'll shut up about it now 🤪). all that being said, i would never _introduce_ someone to this band with anything from Decide, so there's that 🤷♂🫒 (though, that album _has_ grown on me quite a bit)

@@Double_J_48629 Yeah I agree with this. Stardom is fun but really doesn't challenge this band. I love these guys to death but wish Haruka had not started singing. I only like her singing on a few songs and her doing vocals absolutely takes away from her guitar playing and her composing in my opinion. I know she has been spending a lot of time on vocal lessons and I think it has hurt the other stuff. I know they are trying to find a way to bigger success but...
