--- 🎧 Download links are available in the description 🎧 --- With this upload I'm ending my foray into the world of Asterix & Obelix XXL soundtracks. Although this game has the shortest soundtrack of all of them, it was the hardest for me to put together into an appealing end product. Although the individual tracks are heavily connected through their thematic material, they often don't flow into each other as well. I had to introduce quite a few (hopefully unnoticable) edits and in the end I decided to depart from my usual workflow of arranging the tracks chronologically as they appear in the game, in favour of a more musical approach. As a bonus and to make up for the reduced runtime of this soundtrack, I included the multiplayer music from the PSP version at the end. This was written by Dariusz Puk from Tate Interactive in 2006, and although it isn't thematically connected to the main game's music at all, it's pretty fun to listen to. With this video I have also made available a zip archive of all my XXL soundtrack mixtapes in their final form that can be downloaded from the video description. To prevent spam, I will manually read through every comment before publishing them. Please be aware that it could take some time for them to appear. I hope you enjoy these mixtapes, see you soon! ❤️

28:00 this stuck in my head for years! I used to hum it to myself not even knowing from where i know that tune. I played this game a lot as a kid and this shows me how much it influenced me subconsciously. Thanks for uploading this!

As a kid it was crazy trying to figure out what the text is, my sister and I played this game so much and think of random German words (we are German native speakers) that would be the Text 😅😅 Does anybody know the actual text?

Man, thank you so much for this. The XXL2 soundtrack meant a lot to me as a child, especially the heroic main theme in its many variations, which is one of the main reasons why I always remembered the game so fondly. I'm super glad that it finally got the complete, clean upload it deserved! You've really outdone yourself with how you combined the tracks by their thematical material, what a musical journey! Interesting choice to treat Venice Battle and Pirates Island Battle as one track as well! I also need to mention that I love the track names you came up with. Though I'm still sad we don't have official track titles for any XXL game, yours are the most creative ones I've seen.

Thanks for your comments! It's so nice to see when the work that goes into a compilation like this is appreciated. Doing this really taught me that putting together a soundtrack album nicely is more than just dropping cues from a movie or game into a folder - it's also a really rewarding feeling once the puzzle begins to come together.

19:49 Wow, first time I'm hearing that XXL1 reference there 😄 Sneaky!
@angelb.8233 жыл бұрын
How and where does it reference XXL1? I had played both games and still doesn't ring a bell to me. Perhaps I am missing something.
@Failentin3 жыл бұрын
@@angelb.823 Listen to the highest instrument (probably a flute), it plays the main theme of XXL1. Listen to 0:01 for reference, it's the same thing, but less subtle ^^

Shame there isn't a longer version of "The Irate Pirate". That track got stuck in my head and honestly, I don't mind. It's just a wee bit short. I've tried multiple times before to find the full soundtrack and to my surprise, here we have it. Thank you, I mean it!

Thank you for the uploads and your work you put into this. Loved the transition you put into the "Hold the Line, Las Vegum" part, really nice idea. I really like the soundtracks of these games and always come back to it from time to time. This is for sure the best way to listen to it right now. I didn't think you could make an hour long version out of the XXL 2 soundtrack that even has some sort of flow to it. Nice one!

If it can help anyone, regarding the multiplayer music and what each map's goal is: 41:28 Robin Cook (Gauls have to fetch plants in the forest for Getafix who's brewing the magic potion while Romans have to stop them) 43:02 Grand Theft Potion (Romans have to steal the Gaulish village's magic potion stock, while Gauls have to prevent them from stealing it) 44:12 Operation: Desert Storm (Gauls have to defend a palace in the middle of the desert that the Romans must destroy) 45:47 LuckSore Job (Gauls have to take the gold the Romans have stolen and bring it back to their base while Romans must stop them) 47:20 The Secret Of Pirate Island (Basically LuckSore Job but on Pirate Island, with the Gauls take back the treasure the Pirates have stolen, with the Pirates having to defend it) 48:51 Las Vegum Head On (Gauls VS Romans Deathmatch in SeizeUs Palace) 50:43 Las Vegum Unleashed (Gauls VS Romans Deathmatch in the WCW) 52:12 Stop The Piracy (Gauls have to place explosives on the Pirates' ship to sink it, while Pirates have to defend their ship) 53:33 Las Vegum Rivals (Gauls VS Romans Deathmatch in Lutetia, personal favorite multiplayer track) 54:57 Las Vegum Challengers (Gauls VS Romans Deathmatch in Little Venetia)

Could you please do the ost of the ds version ? It has even more epic tracks than this
@LaVerite-Gaming2 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry, but I do not plan on doing so for now. It's true that there are a few good tracks in the DS version, but since it's a completely different game, I didn't include them here. Maybe at some point, but not in the coming months.
