Good video to reflect the authentic nature of this remake. I still have, unbuilt, the original AIRFIX 1/24 scale plastic model of this iconic car. This video has now inspired me to build it. Thank you.

Great quality video..... but really needs commentary or at least sub titles. Otherwise it becomes boring after a few minutes

They are toys. You can’t drive them on the roads. Only the original DB5. It’s a toy car.

Totally agree. I hope the car industry comes full circle and we get back to coach building. These designs are timeless and with the progress of electrical power trains these days the possibilities are huge, no reason we couldn’t have electric DB5 to satisfy the environmentally conscious..

I used to frown upon reproduction Cobras and the like, but I'm starting to think it's a great idea to take some classics like this DB5 and go back into limited production- the originals of most of the great marques are so stratospherically expensive that even people that can afford to own them almost never drive them for fear of losing resale value. Nobody will ever see 99% of the great automobiles out on the road ever again. (except for Jay Leno, haha) I wish we could buy many of the greats once again- with subtle and sympathetic modern improvements such as abs, air bags, disc brakes, yet retaining most of the character that made them special in the first place. I can think of dozens of cars I would love to see again.......otherwise, all these cars are gone forever, hidden in some trust fund manager's 10-car garage under a blanket. Those cars are out of reach for nearly everyone and will never be affordable again.

Surely this will be effectively a 1+ 2 configuration, as if I am not going to drive it, I will be sitting in the rear seat. You are not going to get many passengers to sit in the left hand seat, Rocket Jockeys?

i was offered these in the mid seventies for 1500 quid ,could have bought a db4 gt that sat in the back of jaguar main agents ( g blizzard motors of chorleywood herts ) for 1200 quid it was falling apart i opened the door and it dropped down the interior was full of mildew and when i saw weber carbs i said yikes and walked away ,.

And you now regret it? Although 1500 quid or even 1200 quid (as you so succinctly put it) in the 1970's was a considerable sum compared to today's values.

@jamesdean8669

Should of included some dialogue as well as some recent shots of a more finished DB. Never mentioned how many are being made as well as the astronomical cost it will take in buying one of these beauties. Unfortunately true, it's being brought back so some rich guy can purchase and pretend to be James Bond..I think I'd be one of them if I had the cash.😜

These reproduction DB5's are not street legal because they are technically 2020 model cars that don't meet current vehicle safety requirements. Aston Martin is a current car manufacturer and not eligible for exemption like some homemade reproductions are.

It's built in the original factory, not in the modern facility they use for DB11's et al. It's also going for 2.5 million pounds a copy. It's obviously a way for them to raise money!

You are jumping the gun here surely. These are one off handmade DB5s carefully crafted in a quite section of AM plant. The contemporary product line do not share the same production line. This is clearly understood by the layout and tooling.
