These sound surprisingly good for 4 cylinder engines (in my opinion) but I'm still sad to see the V8s go, that was one of the things that made DTM one of my favourite types of motorsport (although it still is one of my favourites)

Tjeerd same. The japanese’s gt500(basicaly dtm cuz they follow regulations) use to have a v8 nissan gtr. That was my favorite.

Well the actual sound is not that bad thats true BUT everything else is honestly boring. First of all the AM is the only car that has an audible anti lag system and the pops and bangs of the V8 were insane! The worst thing however is the pure volume. While sitting directly at the track you can speak with your neighbor?! Thats at least my experience from Hockenheim. In my opinion theres a lot going wrong with the DTM not only the new 4 cylinder engines...

What is against a V4?! the Porsche 919 LMP1 car has a V4 engine...

@@rennsemmel5546 The Aston has an inline 4 but even the 919 which does have a V4 sounds disappointing... the LMP2 and LMP3 cars sounded much better. I get why they do it because the performance is amazing but I miss the old days of big naturally aspirated engines....

Now, we all know how crazy the aero of DTM cars are (I do believe they’re almost on par with the GT500 class of Super GT). Just pull a 🅱️ig Y E E T and put the previous GT3 V12 in it, and “Voila”, modern day GT1

Interesting, but the BMWs have a raspier note below the fundamental whine of engine, sounds more raw than the Aston. BMW's got the best sound of this era of engines, I think.

@@KyleLampart Oh of course there is no denying that. But just like I. F1, with technological advancements.. it just loses some of its soul and what makes Motorsport so great. The electronic era is what scares me. Such a massive part of the whole spectacle is the smells, and the sounds. They just won't exist in the future. It's meant to be engaging for all the senses...and that is dying out.
