Just for info: In 1996-1998, the Russian composer Leonid Desyatnikov had a new arrangement of the above four pieces with more obvious link between Vivaldi and Piazzolla, by converting each of pieces into three-section pieces, and re-arranging for solo violin and string orchestra. In each piece he included several quotations from original Vivaldi's work but due to seasons being inverted between northern and southern hemispheres, thus, for example, Verano Porteño had added elements of L'inverno (Winter) of Vivaldi. True , the composer mixed up the pieces' seasons.. a mistake no doubt. As far as mixing into Piazzola some Vivaldi, it is often done on arrangements and I as argentine and a Piazzola fanatic like it. After all he always said upon the question, How should I play it Maestro?...answer was always "play it the way you like it". Remarkable performance by Soyoung Yoon... and she is very well into tango: passion and personality. Happy New Year.

Julio Cafermac Según leo referencias sobre Ástor, el era mas bien ese tipo renegado contra lo tradicional y estático de los ritmos. Me gustó su forma de pensar, ya que en su tiempo se le reclamo mucho que no seguía la sintaxis del tango, pero peiazzolla no era un tipo que le gustara quedar en baches. Por eso es bueno sacar de contexto, mas cuando es un violín lo que usas.

Brillante interpretación!!! Este arreglo para solo cuerdas sobre la Obra de Piazzolla "las cuatro estaciones Porteñas" es de Leonid Desyatnikov quien agrega citas de la obra de Vivaldi y tenieendo en cuenta las diferentes estaciones en los hemisferios sur y norte...en este caso "Verano Porteño" introduce citas de "El Invierno " de Vivaldi....EXTRAORDINARIO....

Por supuesto que se puede decir eso.. porque no?... para nosotros los que amamos a Piazzolla éste es lo maximo... creo que con todo derecho y se lo discuto a cualquiera, Piazzolla debe estar en la nomina de los grandes clasicos.. Chopin, Vivaldi, Stravisnsky, Rostropovich, etc.

I do not think that the Vivaldi remembrance has been written by the Great Piazzolla. I think it is the version Gidon Kremer has done for his CD Vivaldi-Piazzolla with the Kremerata (Camerata) Baltica..
