This is the moment I really loved at 8:47 - no words, but wonderful emotion coming through. Also, just look at the change in the relationship between Nick and Tao. Season 1, sitting together they could barely speak to each other. Season 2, Tao sat down with Nick and opened up about the death of his father. Season 3, no words, Tao is simply there for Nick who needs to cry and release the built up stress he is living through. What a progression in these two lads lives.

The development of their friendship has been so beautiful to watch. From Season 1 Tao sitting next to Nick completely unsure of what Nick's thinking or feeling or what his feelings/intentions are towards Charlie and whether he could be trusted to...season 3 sitting next to him and knowing EXACTLY what Nick is thinking and feeling and just how much he truly loves Charlie and trusting him completely and truly embracing him as a real friend and knowing that he just needs emotional support...I'm sobbing. Just so wonderfully portrayed.

I think Nick going with the family is huge! The Mom wasn’t his biggest fan but I would hope that they realize that Nick is the one that persuaded Charlie to ask for help. If it wasn’t for him Charlie could have spiraled even more. Also the scene with Nick crying into Tao’s arms crushes me every time! They have come so far!

It's not that Jane isn't a fan of Nick, she actually really likes him. She's just worried that Charlie is too dependent on him. They're a teenage relationship and the majority don't last more than a year. She's worried that if Charlie becomes so reliant on Nick, if they break up then Charlie's mental health will be completely destroyed. She just wants Charlie to talk more to her, his dad and Tori because they're the only 3 people who are guaranteed to always stick by him.

oh yes! When I saw this scene I immediately remembered the scene at the party in Paris when Nick says "are we always going to run away from parties to be together?". So seeing them go out alone broke me, and seeing Tao comforting him was beautiful, especially if we remember that first scene of them together at the bowling alley, in the first season. This episode was absolutely incredible.

Guys please tell me you are reacting to Agatha All Along 😭 Edit: 15:51 I think it also reduces shame, because what if someone had a bad experience and then watched a show where everything worked out? They would think “oh it’s my fault that it didn’t work out”… so it’s good to put it out there that not all places are good, and that there are good places. So try again! Same with therapists… it’s not guaranteed that you will fit with anyone, but that doesn’t mean that therapy is not for you… you could try with another therapist and see actual results

This episode did me heart right in! Kit, Joe and Alice said it was their favorite episode of all three seasons, so my hopes were high for a phenomenal episode…but I couldn’t have prepared for the roller coaster they took us on - and I’ve read the dang books! I knew some things were coming, but Nick and Tao at the party and Charlie at the table with Susan - ahh! Bawling my eyes out, every time! It’s also my favorite episode! Love how they focus on multiple sides of mental health and how it affects those around you too! It’s not an individual fight! We need our people! Love you guys and your reactions! ❤

I struggle with OCD, and the depiction of Charlie's is so accurate. Mine isn't nearly as severe as his is depicted, but the strong feelings of dread if I don't do something in the "right way" is still so strong, and seeing it worded that way in the show was so affirming. I've learned to recognize obsessions over the years and work through them, but I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't full of anxiety when I do "break" the rules. I'm just happy that the show was able to shed light on it without the harmful stigma or stereotypes surrounding it.
@767wattsy2 ай бұрын
This is such a powerful episode: beautifully written and constructed, some great moments of character development, even for Charlie's mum (her kindness and care when she's talking to Charlie at the end about lasagne and saying its ok for him to visit Nick show that she's also on a journey) as well as some beautiful moments that genuinely make me sob. The scene of Tao comforting Nick in the hallway makes me cry every single time I watch it. But more than that, and more than the fantastic performances, script, direction and editing, I think the most important part of this episode is the way it destigmatises mental health and shows that recovery from mental illness is a process. There's no magic cure. But I genuinely think this episode, and the season as a whole - indeed, the series as a whole - will save lives because of the way it represents and destigmatises shame and demonstrates a hopeful, healing journey. Please give this episode all the awards now. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but the final scene of Nick and Charlie hugging in the doorway, is the only scene where they don't say "Hi/hey" on seeing each other. Their faces, and then the deep embrace, express far more than words can say.

@@KelaHS87 Yes he has some very interesting ones in the pipeline. I am particularly looking forward to seeing him in Warfare as it will be such a different role! Yes Rachel does keep her American accent. She was good and if anyone else had been Romeo I think she would have come across very strong but as Kit was so good it did highlight quite a difference in the ability in this particular play.

@@charliec4405 jepp, looking forward to Warfare as well. I am a bit "afraid" of seeing him in "A girl's guide to tea and tomorrow", I fear he might be a bit "too good" for that kind of film. I hope I am wrong and that the role gives him justice. I am also afraid he might already be "too good" for the last season of Heartstopper 💔 I hope he and Joe will want to finish what they started (IF it gets a final season), but I can see that the third season was maybe already a bit of a stretch for them since they got more "prestigious" roles.

As a parent of a 15 year old I give my son the option if he wants me in the appointment or not and often he does want me there BUT I stay quite as much as possible and let him answer the questions. So I think in Charlie’s case it was appropriate for his mom to be there

A little continuation of my story from the comment I posted on the previous episode, where I said I myself gave my teacher a letter asking for help when I was 14. After that a lot of stuff started, help wise, I was sent to a school psychologist, which honestly didn't help me cos I was too sort of sick for them to handle, so I was sent on to a psych ward where I spent 6 weeks, and actually my 15th birthday as well. I myself had a mainly very positive experience while I was there, but some of the friends I made in there didn't necessarily, and during my stay there were a couple of suicide attempts from other patients, and we were all between the ages of 13-18. I was in an open ward, and the ward next door was closed, so when someone in our ward would hurt themselves, they would be sent to the closed for more strict observation - they would also have their belts and stuff taken. Even on the open ward there were still bed checks multiple times a night. But I can definitely say that it helped me and I look back on it as an absolutely vital time of my life.

I have been curious about whether this was a function of the UK's system. Charlie is still a minor so maybe this intake meeting required the parent to be there. I am also a bit sad they did not invest more into the scene where Charlie and Nick argue, Nick storms off, Charlie tries to hurt himself again, and Nick comes back to spend the night. In the comics, this is a big scene and, for me, cemented so much about how the two of them are so real and so there for each other. I realize this season is already running at a breakneck pace by comparison to the other two, and we all have our favourite scenes, but . . .

They breezed through some of Charlie’s struggles and focused only on the effect on Nick.Such a shame because the comics was already pretty sanitized, the show even more

This was probably the best episode of the whole series, the construction was excellent, it showed us the two perspectives, Charlie's and his journey, but at the same time it also showed us the suffering of those who stay at home. The scene of the Halloween party between Nick and Tao moved me so much, Nick has always been presented to us as a sensitive but strong boy, seeing him with that Captain America Superhero costume (which suits him very well) finally vent all his sadness in Tao's arms... a scene with an incredible symbolic meaning. However, inserting the song Black Friday, by Tom Odell, at that exact moment in the episode is a crime!!!😭
@KelaHS872 ай бұрын
That song is a crime indeed! I think I cried every time the song began playing... And Nick being so ALONE and vulnerable (I hadn't thought about the contrast with the costume, thanks for that insight!)... It just breaks me! I know Joe Locke is a brilliant actor and he stepped up his game in this season, but Kit Connors "micro" facial expressions are just unbelievable... He's going to make us ugly cry at many more scenes in the future, I am quite sure of it!
