Thanks for this video, guide. Cured my issue. Bought the part from ebay. Fixed all boost issues which is great as it kept dropping into the error and the car would struggle to give any meaningful power. Slowing on hills to a crawl. Really thought the turbo was the issue. 196k and counting now with 13 months mot. For others you can get this from the top of the car. Probably say its easier than underneath unless you have a lift. You'll be working blind but they are fairly easy to get to.

Thank you very much for your video, friend. I just wanted to add that you put the same electrovalve that was causing problems. The new reference is GM 55509482 and it has a blue cap. It was modified by Opel, with another reference, since the previous solenoid was defective in all the BLACK COLOR solenoid valves. Thus the problem is solved forever.

Can't thank you enough guys! Been facing this P0299 problem since June last year and the mechanics couldn't find the cause for turbo underboost. It was a great inconvenience to stop everytime, turn off the car and accelerate from zero esp. on highways. When I saw your comment and the video two weeks ago it somehow gave me hope and I've decided to order the new valve (which is listen on ebay on a great price right now). Changed the solenoid today and voila! Gas to the max and no trouble at all. So happy! THANK YOU BOTH!

Hello and thank you for your video. I have exactly the same problem on an opel astra 1.6 cdti 110 hp, has the p299 error returned? Did replacing the supercharger solve the problem? This often happens when I demand power on a highway uphill or when overtaking. I think your video will help me solve the problem before a possible change of turbo. Good for you

Hi I've got same car 2015 plate. Same problem Po299 underboost. Took it a place recommended by AA who said Turbo OK no leaks, actuator working but Map sensor found to be clogged and cleaned it out. They took it test and couldn't get it to replicate fault. Charged just shy of £100 quid. Limp mode and engine light back on next day overtaking at 3000 revs same PO299 code stored. It's only done 65000 though. What do reckon should do? Just change this part myself or take it back to the people who thought it was the map sensor?

@@RoverturboHi update on mine. I bought the part from vauxhall (£105 quid) I managed to fit it from the top of engine reaching round using a mirror to have a look first. It's about maybe 7 or so inches down from top right gear box side, fiddley and blind but do-able. I've done over 2000 miles since fitting the new one and it's not gone limp mode since putting new one in! Thanks very much for doing the video. You have probably saved me a fortune! (Vauxhall parts desk bloke said he didn't sell many of these and it was unlikely to fix problem. He was wrong though🙂😛)

I cleaned egr, map, replaced n75 valve, checked vacuum lines still getting p0299. So i think it might be turbo or clogged dpf its 1.7cdti.
@Roverturbo
@Roverturbo Жыл бұрын
Possibly.. is the control arm accessible on the turbo? Maybe try and wd40 it loads and work it manually, it maybe stiff or carboned up the vanes inside. Never hurts to clean the dpf anyway, when they get older, it’s not the soot, it’s the ash left behind after many years, the ash can only be removed by cleaning. Plenty of videos on KZbin how to clean the dpf from home.
@felbringer5541
@felbringer5541 Жыл бұрын
when i start engine arm fully open to bottom so vacuum goes there and actuator holds it and dpf doing regen even with engine light and less frequently after injectors cleaning about every 600miles. But i have very bad fuel economy about 35mpg

@Roverturbo
@Roverturbo Жыл бұрын
Hi, This has nothing to do with the egr, if the egr is getting stuck, it’s ether blocked with carbon and might fix it cleaning it, or replacement. I think they are fairly easy to remove and clean with oven cleaner and rinse with water.
