Small update! A lovely person from my discord server let me know that the grainyness could be caused by the anti-glare film that the display comes with. I peeled some of it off and sure enough, the image looked clearer underneath! A bit of a bummer that you essentially have to choose between glare or noise, but at least that means the display itself is actually nicer than I thought. Take that part of the video with an extra grain of salt :)

I've been using XP-Pen Artist 16 for a year or so now. There are times when I curse it for the drivers just breaking on a Windows update, or for just not wanting to work on Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint. Those moments are really frustrating, but thankfully pretty rare. Most of the time, it's just amazing value for the price I paid. After hundreds of hours, the pen and screen still work fine, and I'm using it as a second monitor when I'm not drawing or painting.
@ChristinaMcKay5 жыл бұрын
Those driver issues are the same with my pen display - a wacom Cintiq. I have the same issues on my 2nd computer with a wacom Intous. The drivers not only break with Windows updates. At least 1 time a week the Wacoms just don't work and i have to restart the computer, sometimes multiple times, and sometimes even have to reinstall the drivers. I know for sure that it isn't just a problem with my hardware. Tthose driver issues are very common with wacom tablets.

Great stuff, been using the Cintiq 13HD for the last 5 years now and while I love it to death, it does feel a bit old when I hear about these new amazing pressure levels. If I were to upgrade I would however get a 4k display for sure, otherwise it wouldn't feel like a proper upgrade. That being said, 400USD for this is a steal if it's someone's first display tablet.

@Astri Lohne "noise and grain" is becouse of laminated screen itself. The higher resolution can help a bit, but not much. So yes, my eyes was bleed ing from that type of screen on wacon 24pro for example, so I wasnt able to get used to it for several month. There is some models 22inch that are not laminated from CN brands, if you need lamintaion, you can add protective screen with that amount of "anti-glare" you really need. Btw Artisol 1080p 22inch cost 250$ now, so its the cheapest if not used.

My frustration with their customer support I've only had bad experiences with them and their customer support. Which is really sad, the tablet itself was nice. First 3 minutes the pen was working fine, then it started hanging and becoming worse in the upcoming 2 minutes it stopped completely and didn't work anymore. The order was supposed to be canceled at first so now the order status is "OTHER" on their site with no confirmation of it being completed I contacted them 3 days before they sent it and said i wanted to cancel it two times they said "we will let our team know and cancel it" so after contacting them 2 times and they said they would cancel it, they still sent it. The order would arrive somewhere between then and 6 days. So it randomly appeared 2 days later where I didn't get a chance to decline parcel since my parents took it. After receiving the product and noticing the pen might be defect, i contacted them and asked them if i could return it and they kept bashing about "we can send you a new pen" even after whole talk they were being very hard about me trying to return the product. Now I have to send a video + I have to remind them that i'm returning it with wanting refund. Well sorry just had to show the frustration of their customer support here.
@LivaRules5 жыл бұрын
I recently contacted them through Ali Express (they have an official store there) asking if they will put the receipt in the box since they will ship it from China and i got the message saying they won't. After that i asked why can't they ship the product from France or Spain and they replied that their colleague made a mistake and that they will put the receipt in the box. Now I'm kinda scared to order it because i might pay ridiculously high customs fee if there's no receipt inside...

I bought the Huion Kamvas 16 Pro tablet recently, which is now the main price competitor of XP-Pen Artist 15.6 Pro, and I found that it has chromatic aberration - a slight aureoles of color at the contrasting edges of the picture. This is described as a normal thing in the user manual, but I think that this is a defect, and i constantly notice this chromatic aberration while I work. If you know, is this normal? Maybe all graphic tablets of this type have such defects, including Cintiq?

I am very upset as l had to send my 15.6 Pro back. If you are lefthanded or need the buttons on the left. Well it's not easy as they have you thinking. Rotation 180 in 3 easy steps. Yes the picture did flip. However the pen did not, yeah l don't get it either, l thought the screen sensed the pen and in was free of program... This isn't the case. Up was down, left was right. You could do it another way. Expand view, and have your laptop upside down but that means your start button is upside down... Personally l wanted prime 2, laptop off. The cable is to short if you want to do anything other than desk setup, forget it. You will have to but ha huh, this is bloody expensive if you want to use thunderbolt £189 to £296. No you can't use a type C extension, even though the plug is a type C. Nor thunderbolt 3. It's thick and unyielding, takes up 6cm from your laptop and 3 plugs. The calibration though easy, had to be done often. The wheel. It can't be used to zoom or rotation on sketchbook Pro 8.2, brush size only. It's meh to use, clicks are weak basically cheap feel. Button's are very spread out, so you will be sliding up and down a lot, l ended up moving my bars to my work area and using the screen buttons. So a waste of money in the end. Pen silicone stretched and kept sliding over the collar. If you are a light pressure artist like me you are going to hate this, it's better as the driver was updated, and sketchbook had a helpful hard, soft slider as well, but still it wasn't soft enough. But usable in the end. All these complaints have been sent to XP PEN over 11 days. Yes 11 long days. All assistance is in China and their English is very much broken, be ready to send in videos to back up your issue, and then they are pretty much useless. 2hrs he had remote control of my laptop which is brand new and it was like watching a toddler work out shapes to put in the holes. 40 minutes it took to do what I didn't want, it took me 9 minutes to do that and l don't have a clue, windows 10 wasn't out when I left Microsoft for android. It was rough, and l'm glad it is over. Just be aware of the truth before you buy.
