You do not need the optical cable for console audio, it does matter if you have the base station plugged into a pc via USB and are playing a game, then audio will come through the game section of headset while voice is pc, console also has astro command center no need for pc

It’s unnatural but pivot the microphone from the connection not the middle (to avoid unnecessary strain) Just like lowering an antenna from the bottom not the middle to avoid bending

On the right side of your headset where it says voice and game, keep continuously pressing in between the 2 buttons right in the center. You should hear a sound to let you know that voice and gameplay is both turned on.

I don’t think you need that cord for new gen if I’m correct. I just bought my headphones and it just connected to my Xbox . No cord needed. Only the cord for the charging base.

Can you explain more about the atmos dolby feature? Why do you have a subscription? I bought a used set and the button does work and change the sound, but is it not actually fully working without the subscription? Thats so weird that you need one.

The reviewer misspoke. That button he claimed was for Dolby Atmos is merely the “Dolby” button. In order to activate Atmos on Xbox you have to install the Dolby Atmos app on your console. If you have the coupon code included with the Gen 4 headset you use that to get two years free. If you don’t, you purchase the service on the Microsoft store. If you are activating Dolby Atmos in you console’s system settings, you MUST turn off the Dolby switch on you headset. What I’m telling you is a fact. I own both the previous two gens of the A50, as well as the current gen 4.

You just plug the usb into one of the usb ports on the series x. If you have problems hearing audio from the game you have to plug it into a computer and update the firmware

There isn’t Bluetooth however get an aux to Bluetooth adapter Dolby is just a one time license purchase for enhanced audio (In my observations especially with Apple and Xbox I’m anticipating Dolby being one of if not the audio experience for recent generation of technology. Meaning something will always come to replace the other so who know Dolby is a digital enhancement not a physical thing

I bought a Astro a50 gen 4 recently on eBay and I’m unable to get the mic to work. I’m able to hear the game sound but I’m unable to chat through my mic. I ordered my pair from eBay and I noticed the serial number on the box doesn’t match the serial number on the bottom of the base station. Could that mean it wasn’t actually brand new? The person that whom I bought it from on eBay had it listed at Brand New/Sealed.

You don't need the audio cable installed on the Xbox X system. The USB cable connection is now supported. Please make sure you update your base and headset firmware first before using the USB connection.

On pc you have to connect it to a USB port and connect that to the base station thing and then if your on windows then go to your sound settings and you’ll be able to see the beadset
