The mic of the A50 got different kind of settings, You can choose form Tournament, Home, Night, and streaming. (And form those 4 modes you can also choose Bright, Airy and Warm) You didn't mentioned this in your review But you can change your Mic quite a bit to even make your mic perform better. Next time you should show the Astro command center to what the people can change. Because Astro made allot of things that you can change. but overall nice review. :D

I still have a Gen 1 or 2 Astro A50 and I still love it. The one before the docking station and as long the sound still works though. It looked ripped as hell, but it sound is great. I might upgrade. nice review!

Ironically enough, the Gen1 A50's have the best mic quality. I used it for streaming back in the day. Every Gen has been a disappointment since then.

Girlfriend bought me these gen 4 a50's and they're awesome. The one thing i noticed is that you said the volume was a little bit low, i thought that as well until i started rolling the volume wheel on the headset upwards 50 times and then when i played music my ears almost fell off... LOL

Hi, Thanks for the video. Question: You mentioned being able to chat on both console and PC simultaneously. Do you have to switch between modes to accomplish that? Or does the headset, in fact, output mic audio to both platforms at the same time?

Leave it on ps4 mode and connect aux to computer.....talk to party chat through headset then discord/stream through a mic connected to the pc

Great video. I've had these since launch and absolutely love them. One quick question, you said on PC it installs 2 drivers so that you can essentially control the volume of the game vs chat independently. How exactly do you do this? On the PS4, this would be the chat mix and this is controlled on the ear cup but that doesn't seem to do anything on PC other than turn all the volume up or down.

They will and the good thing is that it works for Xbox series x and ps5/pc no matter which one you bought. Instead of using optical in port you just use the USB port. You just do the firmware update and it will work for both consoles

This has nothing to do with the video but what wireless headset would you recommend for gaming amd streaming for around 150 bucks? I need a decent mic because at the moment i cant spend the extra money on an external mic. I myself have been looking at the turtle beach elite atlas aero. Btw i also play csgo and r6 somewhat competitively so i thought the superhuman hearing thing on the turtlle beach headset would be helpful. Would love to hear tour thoughts.

I just did the same upgrade and love them. The cord from the headset to mixamp was always tangling up in the way and I’d forget and get up with my controller and the mixamp would fall off my desk. A50s sound better imho as well after tweaking the eq

I think the a40s are only better if you have the mix amp. The mix amp is a huge change in terms of volume for party chatt or game chatt

Hey man great review. I was about to drop Astro for good before this video. Ever since I got my Astro A50 gen 3's back in 2018 I've had nothing but connectivity issues right out the box brand new. My base station flickers constantly when I turn them on, regularly having to wait 5 - 15, sometimes 20 mins before the audio and mic stops chopping to get it to completely connect. I've tried a multitude of things to fix this, one going as far as to disconnect my 5G Wifi. I ask because I heard you mention the gen 3 base station connectivity issues. I thought I was the only one with this problem lol do you know of any solutions to fix this without getting the base station replaced?

NEGATIVE I HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS YOU DID WITH THE GEN 3’s💀😂....I still have mine....so annoying.....but I replaced them with the gen 4’s and haven’t had any problems! If you grab them make sure you update the software😎

Take 3.5mm cable from the headphone jack on the back of your monitor and connect it to the microphone port in the back of you pc.....in your sound control panel then select microphone and tight click on your default device such as Realtek or the the headset and go to properties then check the box that says “listen to this device” that’s it

My question is, and I guess I should've done more research sooner or something but, what is the difference between the Xbox/ps4 version in terms of Dolby atmos. I'd prefer the black and gold scheme but I predominantly play on pc and in the future, I'll continue to stick with a PlayStation. So long story short, do I receive a 2-year Dolby atmos code for the PlayStation 4 version as well or am I sol? I'm literally an hour or two away from hitting purchase and I truly don't want to make the horrible mistake. Sadly Reddit doesn't give me a definitive answer and neither does Astros website..

I used my set for the first time yesterday and I had a problem right rom the start. the padding on the headband keeps coming loose, click it back, it comes right off again. I don´t know if got a bad pair of astros or if my headshape is strange.. :) Either way I solved with som duct tape but these are brand new Astros, I shouldn´t have to us duct tape. Has anyone else had this problem?

Really torn on whether to grab these and just get the Xbox base so I can use em for both consoles and my pc or to grab both the Stealth 700 gen 2s that just came out because both of those would be cheaper overall

Do you encounter any latency or connectivity issue with A50? Do it sound the same as A40 volume or softer since you mentioned about the volume issue?

Coming from the a40 tr edition I just bought the a50 (pc/ps4) edition.... and gotta say I’m impressed .... I’m also able to use the Xbox companion app and chat with Xbox users Lol with the right eq adjustments this headset is gold. I got sick of that long cable from the mixamp that would tangle up and get in the way.

Honestly bro it’s tough to go off others comments and reviews, you have to test these things out firsthand. Most of the people complaining about the headset are probably not good with configuring or figuring out the work arounds or just too lazy to try and instead they’d rather jump to conclusion and hate on the headset off the bat

I'm having a problem that I use my headset on full volume and I guess the sound comes out a lot from the headset and it gets picked up by my blue yeti so all my recorded videos have an echo in it. Is there a fix for the audio leak?

@@MaazFz you can reduce the levels in the command center. I can't tell you the best way to reduce it but definitely reduce the volume to start. If you don't have a budget, you can pay 40 bucks to get the leather mod kit which swaps out the headband and ear cups for leather pieces, reducing the sound bleed from the headset. The one downside from this set is that it is an open ear headset which means it has sound bleed...but if you get that kit it may help. Look up Astro command center guides for how to tune your audio levels.

I play fortnite competitively and need to be able to hear footsteps and have good spacial awareness. I just bought the ATH AD700x and they aren't all that. I'd prefer not to spend more than 250 . Wireless or wired doesn't really matter just need quality . Can also buy a mod mic if needed . Please help bro
