dear logitech , i was a fan of your astro A40TR , why did you discontinue the wired pro line up ? A50 gen5 cannot be connected to a direct wire to a DAC or AMP , and why your headsets are still proprietary ? bring back the A40 TR !

24 bit audio only for pc. If you want 24 bit audio for consoles you need a50x since it has HDMI outputs. Thats the only difference.

Paying for 24bit audio on consoles. XBX/PS are limited to 16bit via USB-C. So, you need HDMI to get 24bit on consoles. Astro is running $75 off right now, heads up!

A50X does 24bit audio for consoles since it has HDMI. A50 Gen 5 will only do 16bit audio for consoles since XBX/PS are limited to 16bit via USB-C. Both headsets do 24bit on PC via USB-C.

No HDMI ports for console. That will hurt if you want game/chat adjustment on PS5, it simply won’t work now. Other than that the mic on this is amazing. It’s very comfortable and I would say it’s the best overall headset at the $300 price

Can you say have PC and Switch audio at the same time? The Gen 4 lets you do that by using USB on PC and AUX from the switch from a monitor's AUX output from HDMI.

Do not listen to the other comment. No. The game/chat button does not work on PS5 without HDMI because Sony doesn’t put out the API to be able to separate the 2 over USB.

I have a question: You can be connected to multiple devices, but can you interact with each simultaneously? For example, currently my PS5 audio is routed through my pc so I can hear my PC and PS5 via aux cable, yet I can toggle which device is 'active' and the mic goes to that active device. Bascially, that I know of only steelseries allows for this. Can the A50 pick up audio from the PC but send audio to the PS5 at the same time?

No. Whatever device you switch too with the button on the headset, it completely changes your mic to input there and headphones out output from the selected device. The only multi device functionality is being able to use Bluetooth at the same time to listen to another device

Have you guys fixed the awful firmware issues the Astros have? My Gen 4 A50s often need completely resetting and firmware re-flashing but it’s a nightmare due to there being two versions of the Astro Command Centre floating around. If everything has been brought into the GHub then I might be tempted.

Cmon logitech... why all these cables crap? Just for the love of god release a50 gen5 / a50x with usb c dongle.. AND THAT'S IT. One dongle for ps5, one dongle for pc. Can be the same dongle or ship with 2 dongles and quick switch between the two. I don't want to run the cables and even to power outlet....
