Note if you buy these buy a laptop that you will use because I don’t use laptops and ile rather buy a gaming pc at some point so a cheap single core computer will do fine for updating this

Thanks for sharing those tips. Do you know if you can use both the USB input and the optical input at the same time? I've got the USB input connected to my computer and the optical input connected to Stadia. It works but I can only use the Voice input on the computer (mac). I'm guessing this is the only way both will work and I guess I should think myself quite lucky, but the audio quality is noticeably different, mostly a lot louder and harder to get fine-grain control of the volume although this can be improved by moving the sound to game more. Would be interesting to hear your thoughts, if there are other things I could try.

I have an A50 Gen 3 PS4/PC version. Headset was brilliant for at least a year. Now I get popping and crackling when I experience high bass levels. I want to get this one, do you think the drivers within the ear cup speakers will quickly deteriorate as these have. I typically play at very high volume, perhaps that damaged the speakers. Astro has written to say there's a brand new firmware update to fix problems. If you have issues with the update, they say a hard reset will help. Follow these instructions: - With headset switched on, hold game + dolby buttons for 10 seconds and release. The power led will turn off and back on. - Switch off headset and put back in base station to pair again. - Once paired (check base station indicator) pick up headset and switch back on.

Hi... I have this problem with my Astro's A50 that occurs while I'm on my ps4. The audio is pretty much high even though everything is at the lowest volume as possible EXCEPT the volume wheel (at the max volume) and the Game/Voice buttons at the middle... What can I do to mantain everything at a middle sound (Like the volume bars settings that control the audio intensity from the ps4 ) without touching the volume wheel and the Game/Voice Buttons of the Astro's? (I do not want to low the volume wheel because it helps me hear my own voice while gaming)

You can also go in the sound setting and find the loudness boast and apply that. Once I found that it’s like a whole new headset. Hope this helps

If you should compare Gen 2 with Gen4, you see a bigger difference between sound level, the gen2 is most more high than gen4.

For me, the sound does not have crystal clear sound and instead sounds incredibly muffled and imprecise. I've tried turning off the Dolby settings, changing the EQ settings on Dolby and Astro command, and even used the exact same settings for my Steelseries 9x that sounded perfect, but my brand new A50 gen 4s still sound imprecise. Please help, because I need clear sounds to figure out footsteps in Seige and Warzone.

one issue, or maybe not an issue. when voice is selected over game, in the command centre the EQ presets make no differance, presets only work in game. but for me voice setting is alot louder.

I use astro a40 with tr mix amp on my ps5 all linked up correctly with the hdmi splitter, quality of my sound is good but not a massive difference to my cheap turtle beach and I cannot hear foot steps as loud as when I watch youtubers, what do you think that is? a40s are safe. the new A50s always come out untested and end up having to wait months for them to sound decent with new firmware only reason you get the A50 is if you want wireless

I had that problem when I got really far away from the base station. You may have some sort of interference or something.

Switch to pc mode, plug the base into your pc with docked headphones. Download the Astro command center, launch and it’ll auto detect if there’s an update

if you are using a usb hub you need to connect directly to pc or mac, without any usb hub , that worked for me on mac

I got the same issue. Try to use my speaker audio (Realtek High Def Audio), and it's just a low constant tone. Goes away as soon as I disconnect the aux cord from the base station.

I bought a set of these to replace my PlayStation Platinum headset but unfortunately am disappointed unless I’m just missing something but apparently the A50’s are super loud also to anyone else sitting in the room unlike my Platinums which are Rock N Roll while there on and quite to anyone else in the room. My wife can hear them from across the room. One other issue is the Surround Sound button on the A50’s. I don’t see a light or notification showing that I have that feature on or off

for those of view having trouble with Astro A50 gen 4 on xbox one x like me , with the base station freezing up, i emailed l astro and they sent me a software update i assume its in beta, it s buggy but it does work on xbox it stop the base station from freezing , but the sound for me it still too low, compar to gen 3 , there are more fixes in the update but xbox issues were my main issues

Late reply but what are you using them on? If it’s PS4 then you need to go to devices and click audio to headset-chat only. The other audio should come through the optical. There’s a video on KZbin which shows how to properly set them up.

Anybody else have issues with the presets not working on the headset on console? I'm now on my 2nd one and the presets are no different, I've checked for updates, nothing and even changed it on pc to where I guarantee there's a difference but when I switch to ps4 the presets sound no different than each other.

Thanks for the video mate. I'm receiving this headset tomorrow as my Gen 3 died yesterday! So wanted to see if there are any issues. If you look at the video from 3:24 look at the battery percentage change from 99% to 127% then down to 92%! Haha weird

I find that the audio ‘jumps’ twice every hour or so, as though it disconnects for a microsecond and then reconnects. Is anyone else having this issue? I have updated the firmware and disconnected/reconnected the headset but the problem persists... doesn’t matter if I am gaming or watching Netflix

its the wifi channel between the headset and your router, usually its the 5Ghz band causing the issue. the A50s tend to use the channels 149-165 if you change the settings so they don't overlap it should fix your drop out issue.

I was getting some interference on my A50’s. Sounded like putting your cellphone next to a speaker then hearing that interference from the radio signals. So, I noticed it was happening around 10-15 minutes on point! It turns out my phone has push notifications. Emails, apps, etc. So, when my phone was requesting info from my wifi it got picked up on my Astor A50’s. What I did to fix it was place my iPhone in Battery Save mode. Which stops those background app refreshes mentioned previously. After doing that the interference issue went away ASAP lol. That was my fix. No need to bother with wifi channels or anything.

I don't know if someone or you ( Provoked) will be able to respond to me but me and my friend online have the same headset just his is the Xbox version and mine is the PS4 version. Him and my other friend say my mic doesn't sound nearly as clear as his does, they said my Apple earbuds (wired) sound better than my headset mic and that bothers me A LOT. Please if you have any recommendations please help

Have you updated the firmware? And have you tried tweaking the microphone settings in Astro command centre?
