I just hope review scores will also translate to great sales. This needs to be a success to show Sony we want more of these kinds of games (not necessarily platformers, but simpler AA-level games, funny and entertaining, at super high-polished quality).

It's still only #8 on the PS Store, unfortunately. As much as gamers complain about modern gaming, they refuse to support good games and are part of the problem

my favorite game this year so far is Wukong on PC....i had a such blast playing that game. i know Lono wasn't a fan of Wukong on PS5. even so PS is making bank in China just because of Wukong lol anyway Wukong doesn't have a chance to win GOTY because of the critics scores on metacritic and some of the garbage controversy surrounding it. can Astrobot take it? maybe...the critics scores are incredibly high...which gives them a decent chance but i still think Rebirth is the favorite to win right now.

I just think Playstation is in it for legacy and awards more than money and that is evident by the way Phil Spencer talks and how its about quantity and not quality. I think it's in the bag, even if Shadow Of The Erdtree was eligible (it isn't) a lot of people have soured on it and the hype dropped pretty dramatically.

"Asobi" 「遊び」is the noun form of the Japanese verb that means "to play". Apt name for the developer given what Astro Bot encapsulates. I think I will be picking this up. Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart was the last platformer I played and that was a fun experience.
