I really enjoy the energy and the stories that High Rollers brings to their DnD games. It doesn't feel like they are overly trying to make a show for the audience, but it comes off that they are genuinely a group of friends who gather to play a great game of DnD and enjoy the time. Additionally I enjoy Mark's style of storytelling where it is about the feeling and impact of the characters and story beats rather than trying to describe and go over all the minute details (while still being very detailed if characters dig more) of the character). Overall, I've been really enjoying Aerois, Altheya, and all the one-shots for these very reasons. Keep up the good work!

If you hadn't seen already it once took them 3 episodes (5 to 6 hours) to come up with and stick to a plan in the Aerois campaign. They're the champions of indecision but I love it.

I wish the players were a bit more assertive with pushing their character's goals forwards. If they're going to reject an awesome heist adventure they could at least have some equally cool idea of what they DO want to do.

Also them going on a heist offered by the shady tiefling is a SURE FIRE way to have the orc guy come down on their heads. Remember the tiefling is a wanted criminal/huge suspect. Them just having their gift with a note puts them at major risk. Esp the way Xantheus and Daisy are being watched. They have a lot they can do instead besides that, it's just nice to see them not be immediately big headed about their abilities (a lot of parties would have a dukes favour and then milk it and think they can get away with anything)

While a demon demi-plane heist would be AWESOME, I can definitely see why the group that's already under suspicion from holy authorities doesn't want to stick their neck out with our shifty shapechanging friend to get teleported far away, then to a demi-plane, to then steal from an extra-planar arms dealer... That's a looooot of risk when they don't have a lot of money or magic items or friends in that area to help them out.

@@Grindzy56 Just to add to your point too, if they got CAUGHT? Ophelia had a bad day getting shot and knocked out by blacksmiths and an infernal demon. You KNOW an armsdealers gonna be strapped. Mark doesn't pull his punches with his fights considering they all had bleeding that just about destroyed them. And that was just defending a lamp. Mark's also made it known this campaign is grittier and tougher (not impossible but they gotta actually be smart, like he said they aren't superheroes in this one) so I would also say the idea would sound insane to... basically all of them. Fun idea for sure, but on that aspect alone? Yeah, their characters just wouldn't see the sense in risking having a powerful enemy like that WHILE also being cursed still.

Mark really tried to give the party an intriguing friend and some cool things to do (demon raid, that would have been fun!). Never mind, I'm sure he'll cook up something even better next time! It must have been easier to hook the party in the days of early editions of D&D when most of the point of the game was to go on missions to dungeons etc. Getting a party of characters who aren't adventurers to GO on an adventure is tough sometimes. I had a similar problem in Waterdeep: Dragon Heist when no-one seemed to be interested that there was *Half a MILLION gold pieces* somewhere in the city. Give me selfish sociopaths as characters any day. I do love these characters, sometimes I just wish they weren't such nice people. Perhaps its a reflection on these lovely players

two things here. one, it is important to have people like kalifris that the party can reject, because if they dontr have the option of working with them they cant work with them. the other is if they dont want to work with the shady thiefling, well first of all eventually they become a villain, and second you provide them with plothooks they are intested in, like lamplighter guild doing shady fiend shit. (if i had a nickle for every light based demonic cult in high rollers i would have two nickles witch isnt a lot but its wierd it happened twice.) or your house is haunted fix it so you can get into settlement building, or here are your knightly order, now leave the party. (i worry for gruff.). or of course, you are broke, here is a way to make money.

I know I’m a few months behind, but I’ve been catching up. Basically binging the sessions, but I’m confused. Even watching them in order and in their entirety could someone explain the 180 that happened? Wasn’t the plan to not disclose the information they shared with the High Authoritor? Didnt they only just inform them, so the Gildmasters would not have known about a the discs? Why was there a sudden jump of information that shouldn’t and wouldn’t have been known? Was that what the fate dice was used for? And if so, how did the players pick up on that without discussing out of character? Edit: Basically what I’m asking is didn’t they say they wouldn’t talk about it and try to investigate at the dinner, and then immediately were like “oh about this secretive info you don’t know, that apparently you do know”. What did I miss and how did I miss it?

The meta gaming with potions intrigues me. I was pondering before if "fate/luck" was going to end up being not just a part of the mechanics, but part of the story and this seems to hint at more of the same in that the meta will influence things in a more story based way. I am all for that since some of my favorite campaigns have done the same, but at this point learning how this all ties together is just as compelling to me as the characters and players. Does anybody know why High Rollers don't add subtitles to their videos? I'm on a quest to find new cool DND streams (all caught up on Critical Role) and I'm surprised to see that a few promising shows don't have subtitles (and all of them are british, so for me it's even harder to understand, because english is my second language) Also my hearing is not great. And High Rollers are pretty popular, so I guess it's not about money? Maybe they already addressed this issue?
