When I get my hands on the update, I'm gonna make a huge metro system with stations at launch pads, mining sites, my home base etc. I will make it in such a way that I could travel from my home base to the launch pad a few hundred meters away and then land on Glacio and travel to a mining site and get some hematite and then return back.

The proximity repeater isn't necessary and actually can create issues in itself, such as turning nearby arms or storages off, calling nearby railcars if you've got stations in close proximity, and more. I'd recommend just feeding the signal directly into the car, or if you're using something with storage canisters as well you can branch it to hit the car and the large storage (which will in turn trigger all the items attached to it). That's a clever design, and I must admit I probably wouldn't have thought of it myself... but with a prox repeater there's the potential for interference between multiple lines which would be best to avoid if possible.

Yep, I just tested this, and the proximity sensor causes problems, in particular if you attach a rail engine. I took the feed line from the storage sensor and tacked directly onto the rail engine and now it's working. The problem seems to be related to the length of the train and the way it considers whether the train has arrived at the station or not. I have a different problem, and that is mining seems to stop sometimes (is this a bug?) at the Auto Extractor despite there clearly being resources still in the ground. This seems to happen when the green bar on the AE is goes down to zero. I have to manually lift up the Auto Extractor and replace it in the same place, and then the green bar comes back, often indicating quite a few resources still remaining. This behavior seems like a bug to me, do you have a workaround?

@@Qichar It's a known bug. You often need to just pick it up and put it right back down and it'll work. You could look into overclocking your auto extractor but I believe you still run into the same issues.

I absolutely love your videos and I'm actually frustrated that I only recently found them because any other astroneer videos are usually around 10 to 15, maybe even 20, minutes long for something that only needs about a minute and a half for explanation. I even talk about your videos on my twitch channel. I suggest to viewers to watch your videos all the time now. Yeah sure I only have a small following of a couple thousand people but they appreciate your videos because they are straight and to the point and add little bits of humor here and there. Quick tip: make sure there is no other resource around your auto extractors because mine finished collecting titanite and started taking the nearest resource, which was compound. And now I have 40 compound

Well, thanks to some experiments we know that the arriving planet won't load and the game would think that you're on the starting planet, also the stars and planets in the sky would be wrong placed. You won't fall into the planet anyways and you'll see resources and object but the terrain would remain unvisible.

THERE IS A REALLY GOOD GLITCH 1st place 5 carts on a track with one on a station 2nd put 1 canister on each cart. 3rd load a train and it wont work because you still have one on the station, 3rd start the cars until none are on the station. 4th load it again now it should work. 5th place a resource on the station and it will go to a canister 6th take the canister that was loaded off the train. This lets you teleport items. if I put more compound in the station after the glitch It will be teleported to the compound container. An example being that this glitch will let a station load a resource canister on another planet meaning complete automation of any item in the game. Hopefully this makes sense. Please people like so he sees this this glitch is revolutionary. Edit: its as good it will fix if you log out but if you just leave it on you could have one of your farms produce more produce than ever.

It would need good coordination, I'd have to sit down and design it, but basically you would just build many of this contraption, all pointing to the final station and it should work but it may need some kind of traffic management close to the station

Essentially a roller coaster of a sort by doing that you could if possible enjoy the sights, not have to worry about sudden caverns while driving, take a trip through the core of the planet also you can experiment with different platforms and altitutudes, upside down parts, through different tunnels in different biomes, etc. You could even use it (probably not) to catapault dynamite to make like a bomber train to bomb different part of the planets on the trip from point a to point b. Would be interesting to see how creative one could be.

Don't build underground. I've never met an Astroneer update that didn't replace some terrain and bury my underground base. Building underground was the worst decision I ever made in this game.

@@KuyaGameAstroneer yeah! One way to glitch in is to use a rover seat. You pick up the rover seat and position your camera into the core. Then you just place down the rover seat inside and climb into it! That's only one way and I'm sure there are more, maybe one that involves a train maybe if you glitch a station in the core and place down a track. What happens then?

@@KuyaGameAstroneer I just reread your reply and I think I got a little excited and didn't read it too well.. I don't think there is a way to glitch to the core but there is a way to glitch into the core of the planet without activating any of the other purple structures on the surface.
