Something I realized while doing some experimentation with this overclocking mechanism: you can put a QT-rtg and a delay repeater stacked directly onto a button repeater, and all you need to do is stick the anchor of the delay onto the extractor. The trigger of the repeater will feed into the extractor, which will feed back into itself.

@@KuyaGameAstroneer i redid the basic idea to use an area repeater on a delay repeater on top of a battery The battery sensor is just there so I can mount the repeater clock without taking the T2 slot, so I can put a medium silo on it. Nice and self contained, no auto arms required.

Someone touched on this in a reply but you can do a basic set up of an overclocker that will mount on the auto extractor. - make a stack with a battery sensor on the bottom, then a delay repeater, then a proximity repeater. - mount that to the auto extractor, set delay to around 9, and hit the proximity repeater. (I usually put it on the back of extractor and not too close to the resource canister so that it doesn’t cause the canister to keep switching from input to output) - then I connect power that gives 1 unit and put a medium canister on top. I always use this over clocker but for larger collections I use the content creator’s auto arm + large canister set up.

2 years later this still works! Like suggested in the comments, Ive put a delay repeater stacked onto a button repeater with the anchor of the delay repeater hooked to the extractor, as well as a QT-RTG onto the 2 top slots of the extractor for minimalictic and space saving design. However incase anyone tries to hook an auto arm to this setup, be aware that due to lack of power supply it will nullify the effects of the overclock. You have to feed the auto arm with a different power source.

Yeah for real that trick is pretty handy. My extractors are kinda far so I'm building train rails to pass by all of them and then I can just swap storage and keep moving. The beacon trick will help me save time driving around collecting half full storage lol

I like to run a rail line to each extractor. The rail line is connected to my base power supply at one end and the extractor setup at the other. That way I can keep all the power production at the base. Super easy, after all the train is the easiest way to transport all those resources.

I have a 4 medium car setup that I haul behind my mining car (large car). 2 cars hold large wind and solar power source, one holds a large container, and the last one has a beacon and medium batteries. They are also on the ends of the car train. The arm is placed on a tall platform, acting as a wire extension as well. This system allows me to quickly move the mining operation.

protip: if you want to make a portable version, get a rover, put a winch on it, and somehow get it to be capable of storing said items so what you need: rover with enough battery and power generation winch some storage then, go lug it around, you'd get practically free resources

guys a better and cheaper way to get the power needed for the extractors is to automate medium generators. you need tappers farming organic than an auto arm putting it into the furnace and then another auto arm taking the carbon and putting into the generators very easy and provides loads of energy

That's true, but this how I do it: I have like 3 extractors, and whenever I'm getting low on a resources, I place the extractor on it. Whether it's resin or titanite or anything else. So I only make a few and move them when needed 😊

Large canister on back, auto-extract top with auto-arm on it, seat front, and med storage on front with single qt-rtg, light, button repeater, and 2 delays. I have all the segment pins hooked up except to auto e while driving. When parked, auto-e placed, pins placed on it, auto-a and med store goes on top front, then power with front flipped. ​​@@KuyaGameAstroneer I would also like to add that including 2 more qt-rtg and a portable smelting furnace will allow you to smelt as fast as the overclocked auto-extractor will produce. Perfectly lines up so that only smelted resources are stored. No bottlenecks.

It makes the beacon change color from blue to yellow. So you know when the beacon is yellow you can go pick up a full storage

I just tried this and it didn't work for me. It turned the extractor on/off a lot, but it also kept switching medium storage canister status from enable/disable output. Basically all that kept happening was the canister would release a nugget and then put the same one back in. It wasn't farming anything new. 🥺

Would this work under ground because I have been using your scrap farm design and it's really good however I have been running into a really anoyying problem that when the the soild-fuel jump jet arrive 4 of them are deposited on the other meduim storage the one where the astornuim should be placed the problem is that my extractors aren't make astornuim as fast so where the soild-fuel jump jets aren't going were I want to go on there storage so the sensor isn't working because that storge isn't filling up so do you think if I make the auto extractor produce astronuim faster would solve the problem? You could try to put something on top of the auto extractor so that it "blocks" the slots on top and the auto arm can pick up the ore from the lower slot of the auto extractor

Unfortunately there is no way to auto-extract organic yet... Only through the terrain tool or drills on rovers .. or TNT of course lol
