Great image James. I have come across this galaxy while browsing on Stellarium but haven't seen many images of it, it's certainly a very interesting looking galaxy. Definitely on my todo list at some point as from my location is passes directly overhead at the zenith well away from any light pollution.

Thanks Pete! Definitely a good target for you. :)

Great video! I had never heard of this target. I’ll have to try it with my EdgeHD and 2600MM and see what I get.

Nice, should do well with that combo.

Excellent image James. Thank goodness we do not reside in that galaxy with no star formation going on - I'm guessing there are not a lot of astrophotographers in the Tiger's Eye Galaxy . 😆

Seriously, lol. I'm guessing planetary nebulae are the hot targets over there :)

Thanks James - great image. Did you use any filters?
@DSOImager11 ай бұрын
Thanks! I used the optolong luminance filter for uv/ir cut.

Very nice walkthrough, but how do you extract luminance from the OSC image? I thought luminance was mainly for monochrome imaging. I'm relatively new to the hobby, and shoot OSC (2600MC pro) with a Redcat 61. Thanks!

Thanks, sorry for not showing that step. On the top row with all the icons (buttons) there is a button for "extract CIE L* Component". Click that and it will open a new copy that is a luminance copy. Right next to it is a "split RGB channels" if you ever want to break down your OSC data into separate RGB images. Can be useful if you want to use linear fit. My previous video on M77, I show that step.

Ahh, thanks. One of the many challenges of Pixinsight, figuring where to find and click on icons, processes, scripts, utilities, toolboxes....!@@DSOImager
