Being a Mets fan and rooting for the astros has gotten many of my classmates to call me a bandwagon, not a “real New Yorker”, and overall shocked that I’m rooting for them in New York but I of course find this bs cause as a Mets fan how can I not root for the astros? They beat the Yankees, so of course I rooted for them. It would’ve been the same for the guardians if they pulled it off. I find it funny how all these yankee fans expect me to root for both Ny teams just cause I’m from the state. I’m a Mets fan, not a yankee fan, and apparently this makes be a bandwagon and not a “real New Yorker.” Great season astros, and great postseason. Glad you won

I cannot stop watching all these clips. Not just because I am an Astros fan, but that's one reason. It's because I am just a lover of baseball and every year after the world series I get a little...sad, because baseball is over for the year and there are no more games to watch. I'll admit it's better this year because the post season clips are of my team finally bringing it home again and not of them either not making it past the CS or losing in the WS...so there's that. It was a sweet postseason for Astros fans and they deserve it. They have been the best team in baseball in the last 7 years and they are positioned to be a contender for a few more years with the way they are set up
@drbryant23
@drbryant23 Жыл бұрын
They deserve this one. 2017 is tainted because of the cheating. No one in the history of baseball cheated like the 2017 Astros. The statistics tell the story. Yu Darvish has the highest career K rate among righthanded pitchers in MLB history (!), and against the Astros in June (before the cheating system was implemented), he held them to one hit in 7 innings. But in the World Series, with the cheating, the Astros only had ONE swing and miss at an offspeed pitch. If you understand baseball, you know that's statistically highly improbable. Yes, it really wasn't possible against a team that stole signs throughout the postseason, resulting in statistical anomalies that the baseball world has never seen. A team where (with the sole exception of 40 year old Beltran) every single player improved OPS from 2016 to 2017, and the players with the worst career stats saw the most improvement (Jake Marisnick and Marwyn Gonzalez improved by over +200). I do respect Jose Altuve- I think he is very talented and according to Correa, Altuve was disgusted by the cheating, and got angry when teammates tried to feed him signs. But the fact of the matter is that he had the best year of his career in 2017. It's a massive advantage. Imagine not having to read scouting reports or watch films late at night, trying to figure out pitcher tendencies. In fact, you don't even need to scout opposing pitchers - a huge advantage over teams that were trying to compete honestly. No wonder they were cheating all season, even against teams that lost 100 games, like the White Sox and the Mariners. At that point, it's not even baseball any more. It's some other game.

I wouldn't call winning by a grand total of +4 runs over 3 games "steamrolled". I see the Mariners on their way up and it'll be nice to have some competition in the division for a change. Glad both teams made it this year but really crushed you guys had to fight it out with each other (and then ofc fight the Astros as your prize). Still, you gave as good as you got, and the ALDS was more competitive than the ALCS. I think the Mariners will be around for a good while now, and probably will trade the AL W division crown back and forth with the Astros a bit (like it seemed the A's were going to start to do in 2020 before the bottom fell out for them with all the new stadium/team sale drama).

Hey, I’m old school, but I don’t mind the game evolving.. And I don’t speak up too often.. However, I just don’t understand how you are 3 outs from elimination, you’re down 3 runs, and 3 different batters swing at the first pitch they see?.. You gotta take until a strike is thrown there.. As a Philly fan, congrats astros! Up until game 4 it was a WS for the books! It was so unpredictable who would be leading in the next inning! After game 4 it became pretty predictable who would win. But, I am very proud of the Phillies for the underdog story (even though they lost). And although I still am kind of skeptical of the astros bc of the cheating scandal a couple years ago, I can say this WS run for them looked a lot more authentic and well earned. Congrats both teams for the undoubtedly exciting games!
