Opened up for Acid Bath two times in the mid 90s. They had to be one of the coolest bands we ever met. Spent a few hours in a bar chilling with Daxx. Coolest dude ever. One of the most underrated bands EVER.

You son of a gun, OSSUARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheers brother, from NEPA, you guys are amazing, all my older friends from wilkes were all influenced by your band and I would later listen to your demos on youtube, you guys had some of the best vocals ever recorded, if you reform and or re-release those demos, woo, your cult status is EPIC.

Acid Bath is EPIC live. I lived in Lafayette during their formative years up until just after Pagan Terrorism Tactics was released. I moved back to Seattle and was so excited to see them, as they were opening for Godflesh. That is when tragedy transpired and they were forced to drop from the tour. I need to make it to Vegas.
@patrickbertlein4626Ай бұрын
In Seattle too. There is no way I can afford that show nor do I even want to go seeing the rest of the lineup and I can't stand the idea of Vegas. Sucks cause I have been wanting to see them, probably like you, since I was a teenager. I assume you're a Wormwood and Black Noise Cannon fan?

Hey! 24 year old acid bath fan here. I first came across them when I was about 15 and getting into sludge, I saw their name being mentioned but couldn’t find their music anywhere other than some live footage so I decided to watch some. And I can honestly say when I first saw that footage of them playing “dr. Seuss is dead” I was BLOWN AWAY! I hadn’t heard anything so menacing yet intriguing before… I’ve been a fan ever since. I’m glad that the members might finally start making money off the music that they made almost 30 years ago and it’s sad that they never got to shine in their prime. Although their resurgence might be due to a momentary trend that my generation jumped on and will hop off in a blink of an eye I’m truly glad that they’re getting a lot more recognition! Nobody can do the mix of growling and singing like Dax Riggs! He might be the most underrated vocalist ever if you haven’t listened to his solo stuff, I encourage it! I know he has a new album coming out and that might honestly have something to do with his willingness to come back to Acid Bath but I’m glad none the less

Acid Bath had a huge impact on me as a musician in my early years. Every time I listen to those records I go back to that time and feel those riffs all over again. They wrote some good stuff and it was a shame how they lost Audie when they were blowing up. I completely understand and respect their decision to end it back then but I am overjoyed to hear them coming back. Fingers crossed for more shows.

I'm in London and only found out about acid bath from a friend who moved to New Orleans about 10 years ago. The internet is the main reason Acid Bath have the following they have today. They were an independent band with little to zero in way of world wide promotion. If the internet had been in everyone's home back in the 90s they would of got the recognition they rightfully deserve. Better late then never I guess.
@SuperStrik95 күн бұрын
Agreed. The internet is one of the reasons Acid Bath have the following they have today. Same thing with another of my favorite bands Morbid Saint. Their first album Spectrum Of Death was on an obscure Mexican label back in the day and got little to zero attention upon release. Great to see both bands getting more recognition these days.

Guys. We (‘AC+’Mortem) played this barnyard bbq gig where they opened for Us; EyeHateGod; Corrosion Of Conformity when they just had the one guy who changed their style of punk hardcore music into what We’re still doing after 44+ years. Doomsday Rock was influenced by Sabbath’s resurgence and specifically it’d been Pepper Keenan whom was THE pioneer of changing the genre’s culture in it becoming popular again. This had to be 1991-92 right after AC’s Morbid Florist was picked up by a major label. Love the cast. Keep it up! I was looking on KZbin for doom metal shit about 12 years ago and came across a video talking about the different genres of doom. I heard like 10 seconds of Dr Seuss is Dead and my head nearly exploded! I researched this band to the nth degree afterwards and have been a HUGE fan ever since! They were way ahead of their time. The Kite String Pops is one of the best metal albums in the history of metal IMHO. It has everything. And every song on it kills! That music with those vocals and lyrics are just on a different level than almost anything out there. I always thought AIC’s dirt was my perfect album until I heard that. Just flawless!

I believe the reason two goatwhore (sammy) and one agents of oblivion (dax and mike) albums were produced by rotten records is because Acid Bath had signed a deal to make 5 albums. After Audie died rotten threatened legal action if they didn't make 3 more albums for them to leech off of. Not only was Mr. Pitre (pronounced 'peet' don't let sammy pierre fool you with his 'peetree' pet name) the glue that held the band together, he wrote around 80% of the guitar riffs; making any new acid bath albums virtually impossible.
