Asura (阿修羅) - Construction and Painting

This fascinating segment is from the seven-part NHK series "The Color of Japan." Here, the color red is created and applied to a modern recreation of the well-known National treasure Asura (阿修羅), from the Kōfuku-ji (興福寺) in Nara, Japan.
