Please move your mic 30cm away and out of the airflow since it impacts noise a lot and also it is more realistic to have it 30cm away with s0 gain since it would simulate how we hear it when standing 1m away on the table or so. @JohnLCharette8 ай бұрын
Personally, I wouldn't upgrade unless you absolutely need to. I was using a ProArt 4070 Ti for about 6 months before I sold it in a build. It worked really well for all of my 1440p gaming with most high end games averaging 100fps. If you want 4K gaming, or more FPS, then upgrade, but given the 18% increase, you'll probably pay more than 18% to upgrade. Let me know what you decide.
@fatidicusaeternus64988 ай бұрын
@@JohnLCharette it's ultimately a minor upgrade, but I did also upgrade from 1440p to 4k in the meantime so the bump is more meaningful than it would be at 1440p. Giving myself maximun FOMO, the 50-series is not far away anyway so that is the rational part saying no for me.

I already have the nvidia control panel installed, currently using the 3080 on the drivers from the nvidia app. Will putting the new ProArt 4080 in just pick right up on the current drivers I have or will I need to somehow prevent it from trying to use the creator drivers? No need to make any changes. If you're already using the Game Ready drivers, it should just pick up the card. You'll continue to get notified for new Game Ready drivers. You'd need to manually switch to the Studio drivers. I had no clue Studio drivers existed until a year ago. This card will work perfectly for gaming, no concerns. Whats the difference between Asus ProArt 4080 Super and Zotac 4080 super Trinity, if there is a minor difference than why is ProArt expensive then Zotac ?
@JohnLCharetteАй бұрын
The core clock speeds are slightly lower, 2565mhz, on the Zotac Trinity. The ProArt is rated at 2610mhz, which is the same as Zotac's AMP line. How much difference will that make? 1-3% slower.. you wouldn't even notice. If you aren't sold on the ProArt design, and want a cheaper card, the Zotac Trinity is an amazing card. I reviewed the Zotac Trinity 4080 a couple years ago, here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hquvcoqdebJlZtU

I'm quite confused between the 4080 SUPER Noctua OC Edition and 4080 SUPER ProArt 🙉
@JohnLCharette4 ай бұрын
They are very similar cards, as far as speed. The difference is the cooling. The Noctua focuses on the best thermals with the quietest fans. The ProArt is much much smaller, but is much loud to keep the thermals at the same temps. What's more important to you? Thermals or design?

Very exciting! It's very simple. What's your primary purpose for the GPU? Gaming or workstation apps like the Adobe suite, Davinci Resolve, CAD software? Use the Game-Ready drivers if you're a gamer, use the Studio Ready drivers if you're a workstation user. I use the Studio Ready drivers because I'm a very light gamer, but know that when I do... I haven't had ANY issues using the Studio Ready drivers for games. Most of the time, the Game Ready drivers help with brand new games by fixing small bugs/issues. I'm rarely playing games the day they come out, but if you are.. use those.

@JohnLCharette5 ай бұрын
I prefer the ProArt 4080 Super myself. I like the design better and it’s smaller. It’s also much louder though during high loads, which doesn’t bother me but if you want a more silent card, the MSI is more quiet. Perform wise, they are the same. Which one are you leaning towards?
@brianmiller15746 ай бұрын
No dual bios, connector faces downwards is awkward to work with. When I got that card I had high hopes, but after receiving and realizing that and also it is loud, not as quiet I hoped for. I end up getting Dual 4070Ti Super virtually the same performance but in even smaller formfactor. Strangely the Asus Dual 4070TiS runs cooler.
@JohnLCharette6 ай бұрын
Everything you said is correct about this card. If you wanted dual-bios or quieter, Asus has other GPUs that will do that. This is a very simplified card that works well for most. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it. I have used Asus Dual cards in the past (3070) and it worked really well considering its size.

Still laws of physics are merciless. This card heats and sounds almost the same as evga 3080ti xc3 ultra, which was smallest of all 3080ti cards. Undervolting sure can help a bit, but still running games with fps uncapped or running the most demanding games at 60fps - constantly gives a feeling that the card is about to die.

I can't understand why these asus proart cards are hotter than asus dual cards. I think the radiator design from the dual, where the fins direct the airflow towards the back, outside the case, is simply better than the 3 fan design with the radiator fins move the air up to the cpu and around the case, with the back exit blocked. I think these cards are only sold for their design, there's absolutely no reason anyone would buy such a large model when it's cooling and noise is not better. You get nothing in exchange for the size. And if you have to undervolt for heat or lower the clocks by 30% to lower the coil whine using the Asus software button to reduce coil whine, why not simply buy a cheaper card?
@JohnLCharette26 күн бұрын
Yeah, I'm guessing a lot of it is the design. I remember testing a Dual 3070 and it was incredible. I used to mine on it and the VRAM were super cool. I assumed it would suck, but it was great. That said, I'm still using one of these ProArt 4080 Super's as my daily driver.. its great. No issues. I don't game much, but the only time I hear it spin up is when I'm rendering my KZbin videos.
@rikimiki1226 күн бұрын
@@JohnLCharette Thanks for replying. There's also Asus Prime with 3 fans but there are no reviews with the pcb and radiator exposed. I hope the rtx50 will use parallel radiator fins like the Asus Dual on the 3 fan models. I can't find any reason to blow very hot air from the gpu directly towards the mb (and the ssds which may be mounted there) and inside the case, when it can be ejected outside the case.

Too hot, though I can buy it but I must pass it, Ill go for RX 7900XTX TUF they are same price in my place tho, I get DLSS and all that is far better and much present. It cost $1250 here both of them, this RTX 4080 Super Pro Art and the RX7900XTX TUF, same price performance vise same more or less, the HEAT is issue for me, 2 slot small factor cards are hot, especially this one the Pro Art, I see now why is it a work station card, just to use that CUDA for faster rendering which doesn't gives temps, but yet again, we don't know here in what games how much are the temps, or those temps are in synthetic benchmarks tho.
@JohnLCharette2 күн бұрын
Ah yes, a TUF card will definitely handle heat issues way better. It has the best thermal performance of all of Asus' lines of cards. As for 4080 Super vs 7900XTX... that's a tough one.
