How do you find gaming being locked into 60hz on the p16? I know some game servers will eject you if you don't match prescribed settings. Thanks for the reviews.
@paolocee2 ай бұрын
@koblmo ah that’s the caveat; being 60hz. It’s honestly not bad. The screen tearing is just annoying once you discover GSync or use a high refresh rate monitor. Activating V-Sync adds that annoying delay that won’t work with a game like Black Myth Wukong. Nah, I don’t think you’ll get ejected for having a 60hz screen. A lot of monitors are still 60hz around the world…thanks for the comment ✌️

I would have liked a thermal and battery life comparison to the Mac.
@paolocee2 ай бұрын
Thought about it but I’d rather save it for the comments. Thermals are NOWHERE near the MacBook Pro. The Mac is just efficient that even when exporting 4K edits on adobe premiere, the fans never or barely came on. ProArt tends to have the fans kick in just while editing; but as mentioned in the video, performance loss wasn’t evident at all during operation; just the fans kick in. Battery life, I feel the new Ryzen chips are more efficient than the prior gen but my Mac still wins in battery life let alone performs 100% even on battery life. The ProArt is half the price of a MacBook Pro though so your miles will definitely vary! Hope this helps and thanks for the feedback!

Between the two, I’m in love more with the ProArt P16. The only caveat really is the 60hz refresh and that 4K screen is a double edged sword. If I lower the resolution to even “2560”, you lose so much sharpness and clarity but when working or just doing daily tasks, that 4K is amazing. I suggest checking it in person first as that will definitely give you an idea.

The entire Asus model range turned out to be very controversial and compromise-like this year, and I would recommend this laptop only to students and novice creators (the only exception is creators who make video and photo content). If you are engaged in 3D visualization, engineering 3D CAD programs, coding with machine learning and you need 1 ultimate device, this laptop is not for you. It can be used as a portable device if you need to move around a lot, demonstrate your work at meetings, etc., and when you need to work seriously, you will find that the power of this laptop is not enough to do the work quickly and comfortably, since 8 GB of video memory is not enough for such tasks in 2024 (at least 12 GB is needed) and Asus did not give you the opportunity to use USB C ports as this is needed in 2024, you will not connect an external video card. still, in a professional device in 2024, all USB C ports should be fully functional and Thunderbolt 4.
@paolocee2 ай бұрын
Very much agree with you there. Even with video editing for 4K content, the fans kicked in pretty quick even though I didn’t see a loss in speed or performance. Thanks for the detailed explanation! ✌️
@leonvonminden7712 ай бұрын
What would you recommend for engineering and cad software?
@VFedosOFF2 ай бұрын
@@leonvonminden771 probably it all depends on your work style first of all: do you work stationary (constantly in the office or at home) or do you move a lot and mobility is important to you. if the first option, then at the moment there is unfortunately no alternative to gaming laptops, so if this is the only and main device for work, then in my opinion this year there is no point in a laptop with a processor older than the 13th generation Intel or Ryzen 7000 series, a video card of at least PTX 4080, RAM from 32 GB. Plus, gaming laptops most often still have the ability to upgrade RAM to at least 64 GB and there is an additional M2 slot for a second SSD or connect an adapter for OCULINK for an external video card and the transfer speed will be 64 GB / s. well, or buy a professional workstation laptop with similar performance but 2 times more expensive))). I have the second type of use, I move a lot. At the beginning of this year I bought an Asus Zenbook 14 OLED UX3405, about $1200 (Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, 32GB of RAM, 1TB SSD and full-fledged USB C Thunderbolt 4 ports), this is an ideal compromise between power and portability for me, but unfortunately you can’t increase the amount of RAM, but when I get home I put the laptop in a holder on the table, connect a monitor, keyboard via Bluetooth, an external RTX4070 TI Super video card with 16GB of memory to the laptop and get a full-fledged powerful workstation. I was expecting Asus to release the S and ProArt models this year, since it was obvious that there would be a Ryzen AI 300 series, a very powerful modern processor with integrated graphics at a level approaching the RTX 2000 series, this is very cool. but what they did with USB C ports was a disappointment to me and I didn't understand why they turned their laptops into beautiful typewriters on steroids at a high price. again, this is purely my opinion and it may differ from others
@Mr.Gametv2 ай бұрын
So you just have to buy intel model for thunder bolt that's it
@VFedosOFF2 ай бұрын
@@Mr.Gametv yes, you are of course right, another point is that the processor from Intel for example Ultra Core 9 185H is much inferior to Ryzen AI HX 370. and again a compromise, a modern laptop with a good processor but with reduced functionality or a laptop with full USB C but with a processor that is unpromising for the future
