I have a Proart 27 inch monitor for photo editing and for softproofing images in Adobe Lightroom before sending them to a professional photo printing service. The colours on the monitor are what I see in my prints due to the colour calibration. There are no colour shifts compared to other monitors.

I’d love a high end oled and have been saving for one for a year now. Hard to know which one to buy and some of the websites that review them don’t really do much ‘real world’ testing. It’s just all figures and charts which means absolutely nothing to me.

Just checking their website it does not include the US in the warranty extension (which is insane and unfortunate really) not sure why that is. That OLED screen, even being filmed on Leo's camera looks epic. I never was too into the super wide stuff myself,. always hurts my neck craning from side to side to see whats going on! and yes before someone slates me, I appreciate the human eye has a lot of peripheral vision as well, you dont 'focus' on, but it never works the same with a screen
@boltsandbraces62612 жыл бұрын
you ever tried one? how close to the screen do you sit?
@powermaster50042 жыл бұрын
I get his point however a lot of games for instance. It’s periphery vision. Like in a car. You focus on the zone In front without looking at sides all that time.

I didn't labour the point in the video but for me one of the strengths of the 3.1-inch OLED versus a 50-inch TV is that you can sit close to the display without it feeling ridiculous Leo

I'm debating the ProArt Z690/Z670 vs the Pro WS W680-ACE for our next workstation. The ProArt seems to give you Thunderbolt 4 and WiFi 6E, whereas those would be aftermarket add-ons for the W680 (which has slots for both). The W680 also trades four SATA ports and an M.2 slot for a SlimSAS port that can take a SATA breakout or U.2 cable, and it trades the FastLinQ 10GbE NIC for an extra x1 slot and second Intel 2.5GbE NIC. My issue with FastLinQ is that it doesn't support VLANs in Windows and it doesn't support SR-IOV, so I usually end up adding a separate 10GbE NIC anyway. On the other hand, the recent news about the I226-V controller doesn't inspire much confidence. The W680 seems to be held up and I wonder if they're trying to address that issue before releasing it to retail channels.

I would agree, that OLED screen steals the show - can't see ASUS beating SONY in the high end game - and id love to see a side by side with the ASUS screen against the SONY, fairly sure it would fall short for the pro end market considering the price differences - was funny when leo said 'they didn't send me that 25k screen'. yeah, they wont!

SONY dominate the high end market, but ASUS might do quite well for a company who needs a 'fairly well calibrated screen' rather than a full on production house requiring everything to be 100%
