HI ! I have an Asus R540L, I upgraded the memory recently by removing the motherboard and since the computer starts only with the charger connected, impossible to start on the battery alone which is charged to 100%, I had put the original memory strip but it's still the same. Do you have an idea about the problem?

Look for a picture of the card to make sure the number of the mosfet near the shipment or the datasheet is asus540l

Hi, thanks for the video. I disassembled my Asus R540L, and I found a RAM in the slot - I had thought that a 4gb RAM is built in, so if there is another RAM in the slot, say 4gb, that should total at 8gb. But the laptop is only showing a total of 4gb. So how can I upgrade to 8gb then? Is it possible that either the built in 4gb or the 4gb in the slot does not work?

I own an r540l since décembre 2017, i would like to know if i can upgrade the ram from 4gb to 8 or 16gb ?

8GB should be not a problem. I’m not sure about 16 - you have just one slot.

CPU is soldered on the Mainboard, you can’t replace it.
