If you look up Dolby access in the windows search, go into the settings and set it to dynamic. It makes the speakers twice as loud, and much clearer. I don't know why they didn't have it on by default.

I have also a G15 ROG Strix gaming laptop (Ryzen 9 5900 and RTX3060 6GB), but the keyboard is differend. Mine is not translucent. The RGB colours shine only through the letters and not the side of the keys. Also the numpad is on the trackpad. If you press numlock, the numbers appear on the trackpad.

Hi thank you much! Great question, sadly I no longer has this unit to test that query, with that said I do not believe the Type-C here support PD. Also charging with USB-C here would not be fast enough and the battery would drain faster than it could be replenished with the charger.

@@djsimma8617 mine had a bit of light bleed in the corners, but this is normal on most LCD panels. It’s not noticeable unless the screen is completely black.

Bet u if u take the bottom plate carefully off the g15 r9 6800m and attach the gt ets 500 cooling pad to the bottom of the g15 laptop, u would get a huge performance boost to insane cooling temps you would get. The cooling pad and upgraded ram is a must. Imagine going further and replacing the liquid paste to thermal paste.

Regarding the power cable, I have to say, that's the furthest thing from a proprietary cable. That's actually the most non-proprietary cable of all: a generic DC barrel jack!

The audio needs to be set to dynamic in dolby atmos software to get the louder volume, also you need to bypass optimus for getting better fps in any game

@@dereks8786 for me at least never before owning a proper gaming laptop/pc (just your basic cheap ones) it's amazing! Plays all the games I'm into on ultra settings. New world, elder scrolls online etc. I've tried rust and all great performance. Only issue I have is my WiFi drops a lot and the laptops in the same room as the router. I have to keep resetting the network adapter. Not sure if this is an Asus problem or Windows 10. Tl;Dr Yeah good laptop just issues with WiFi dropping.

@@darkMystic__ all good. It will run valorant very very well. I don't know about the cad programs though. I would guess it would handle it fine, but I've never tested it.

Asus has made a mess out of the configurations which is why it is so confusing. Some of the top end RTX 3070+ configs do indeed have a 300hz display but its only available in certain regions and areas.

I've also been looking for the gameplay video. Had the laptop with very similar specs for over a hear now. Great machine just curious how long it will last. The 4gn vram is considered a limitation in many videos I've watched so not sure how long it will last for gaming. But still an excellent laptop at least for now and far as I can see.

I’m not sure what’s wrong with mine, it’s way different from what’s displayed here. I have the Ryzen 7 with RTX 3060 and I have to play halo on low settings. StarCraft 2 doesn’t get above 100 FPS and dipped down to 35 FPS halfway through game. Drivers updated. Power supply is plugged in. No idea what to do.

I'm really struggling to decide which laptop I'll go for next. Help me decide! Legion 5 Pro or Strix G15 G513QR? Legion = R7 5800H/RTX 3070/WQHD 165 Hz, 80 Wh battery Strix = R9 5900HX, RTX 3070/FHD 300 Hz, 90 Wh battery Legion has MUX switch, webcamera, higher quality screen, higher brightness, 10W higher TDP on GPU and more ports. Strix has better battery life, higher screen refresh rate, better portability, better keyboard and trackpad, slightly faster processor, better speakers. I'm traveling to work quite a lot, and the portability and battery life means a bit, but the webcamera also does. I do both editing and gaming, so the Strix will be better for rendering, and the Legion will be better for gaming. Legion has slightly larger screen and higher resolution, which is nice when editing (and gaming, but will impact performance). Strix has 300 Hz refresh rate which is nice when I play CS:GO! These two laptops are so good at countering eachother 😅 Which one would YOU go for, and why?

Definitely go for Legion 5 Pro, It's on higher lvl. Better build quality, display, cooling, has numeric keyboard and webcam (hideable).

Lenovo: Very high temperature on the keyboard when playing, annoying touchpad (left biased, should be in the middle), not so good keyboard, bad battery life. None of them worth the money IMO
