The hdr seems a bit low on this monitor for me. Any chance that it could be a display issue? Ive calibrated but it always doesnt seem as bright as it should.. hesitate to return it
@xPhantomxify6 ай бұрын
I'm comparing this monitor with the MSI MPG 321URX both in HDR Performance, with your videos side by side. The MSI monitor seems to have a very red tone, with the light having more colour as opposed to the Asus which has more clear distinct colours, but not as wide range of colours.
@PCMonitors6 ай бұрын
You can't tell that sort of thing from the video. Quantum Dots (or Quantum Dot LEDs) are often picked up with a strong red tint on cameras due to their strong and broad peak of red energy, but your eyes don't perceive the image in that way.

Whether I am in selectable brightness at 100 or the locked 90 setting Windows never sees over 900 nits leak (in both modes it finds the same actually). I thought this monitor was reported to go well over that?
@PCMonitors3 ай бұрын
That is related to the calibration of the monitor and its EDID information as reported to Windows. It doesn't mean it won't actually peak above 900 nits. Hence why it is (or should be) clearly brighter at '100' rather than '90' regardless of what is reported there.

How much difference does 8 vs 10 bit make for hdr? Because I'm currently limited by the hdmi port.
@PCMonitors11 күн бұрын
It makes very little visual difference as the GPU will provide dithering under HDR instead of the monitor handling that bit of the signal if the bandwidth is limited - forum.pcmonitors.info/topic/monitor-with-16-7-million-colors-vs-1-07-billion-colors-does-it-matter/#post-68316.

Will you guys review the Gigabyte Aorus FO32U2(P) 4K QD-OLED monitor soon?
@PCMonitors6 ай бұрын
No plans to do so.

Would you recommend this over the MSI 27QRX qdOLED for someone who has a lot of external light sources that may be in the room? My PC is set up in my living room and usually i have family watching TV, ceiling fans, kitchen light etc. in the area. I don’t wanna have my blacks suffer but I do know that QDs offer the better colors. I primarily play in SDR don’t care much for HDR. Just want to preserve my blacks and not worry about playing in a lighted room.
@PCMonitorsАй бұрын
Yes I would as you can expect significant black raises on a QD-OLED in that scenario. The WOLED of the ASUS can be more forgiving, though the reflections are also stronger which may or not not be bothersome to you.

@_N4VE_14 күн бұрын
@@Zoroisthegoat1 Got the monitor in, updated the firmware, and calibrated following a video. It’s a great monitor and im happy 👍🏽 the brightness is more than enough for me, the blacks are still nice even when I have lights around. I have a white ceiling fan light, and a yellow one in the kitchen, when both are on my screen still looks good and no weird discolored blacks. Coming from a 1440p 165hz IPS there was a big difference when gaming. Graphics look a lot better just cuz the colors are so much nicer. Didn’t think it’d be that big a difference but everything they say about OLED is right. There’s some visual options to tweak, there’s videos on the settings and what the do. You can tweak them to your liking. Overall my blacks remain black in my lighted living room, colors look great, and 240hz is plenty for competitive or single player games. And the only time i notice a dip in peak smoothness are games that might be capped at 60fps. Other than that things feel buttery no matter the frame rate. from 80-240hz it all feels good unlike my IPS. Can’t speak to how bad the MSI gets in lighted rooms, but the ASUS looks and feels great. Will be keeping it for sure

You've got all the details you need in the review (with HDR alone assessed in this video). Whether its worth it depends on your own weighting of this information and is a very subjective and individual thing.

Which MiniLED monitor do you currently prefer? Everything seems mediocre so far. I won't buy a VA panel due to scan lines (even QD-OLED has a similar issue).
