Gets a little hot, but a $25 cooling tray makes this very manageable. It has crushed anything I’ve thrown at it, highly recommended. Don’t take my word for it though the reviews are stellar across the board. I will say spec to cost wise the $1449 model is probably the sweet spot, bought this at Best Buy shockingly. @@F4rnl4cher sometimes I play Forza Horizon but no shooters. I ended up returning it due to the complete inability to see the keys--I'm a touch typist except with numbers and every time I needed to input numbers for MFA, I'd strike out--and due to ongoing black screen issues. When the frame rate changed, the laptop would display a black screen and nothing helped other than rebooting. Did reset the machine to factory settings. Did all the windows updates for firmware upgrades, not doing updates thru the manufacturer. No dice. What a shame! It ran super cool after I disabled boost, and I'm really hoping ASUS refreshes this line with webcam and touchscreen for 2021. I'll be ALL OVER that! It gets stuck on a blue screen and keeps rebooting and going back to that screen even after they’ve changed the entire motherboard and ssd. The screen freezes and flickers, it randomly switches off, the sound randomly disappears completely and doesn’t work even after a reboot, the Bluetooth stutters, the photos don’t open and etc. The customer service is no better. They’re still refusing to replace my laptop with a new one and keep insisting they’ll change other parts and it will miraculously work. I’m somehow hoping to get my money back so I can buy the zephyrus instead.

Slight negatives are PD being limited to 65W only, second usb-c is a 10Gbps dataport only. You cannot use usb-c alt mode with internal vega graphics because it is tied directly to the dedicated gpu. Its amazing that apparently usb-c PD will still allow you to do light work and charge the battery at the same time but if you want to connect to a usb-c monitor and get charge from it at the same time, you will be even more limited because you will have to use dedicated nvidia gpu.

I must share my experience with Asus. I bought a Asus 15’ NSERIES Laptop with 2GB GT635M / 8GB RAM/ 1080P /Bluray player in 2012. A mini subwoffer i think with B&O internal speakers. Close to 750-820$ in India. I didn’t have many issues till now. I upgraded the SSD & RAM and it turned into a whole new machine. I used it as a workstation PC with monitor attached and it worked well. I had issues with the 3.5MM onboard jack breaking and couldn’t find the same locally or at their service centers. ASUS makes good laptops but the service is not good if you plan to keep the product more than few years. Still ASUS is one of my fav manufacturers, specially coming from Taiwan 🙊😅😍 I am here because i got tired of carrying it around due to its weight and am looking for a replacement after using it for 8 years (!)
