Hi, You'll have to be more detailed, the same buck converter is used for the 1.8V, 1V, and 5V rail. There are no schematics for graphics cards unless you are an authorized repair center. You'll want to measure the resistance of the memory phase, 1V, and 1.8V power rails. A short or abnormally low resistance can suggest a dead GPU. Also, can you provide a detailed picture of your short capacitors? I'm having a hard time making out which ones you're talking about.

Greetings, I am heaving an issue with exactly the same card. Problem is that card runs normally on standby and crashes when on load. By inspecting it i could hear the coiling on inductors for memory buck converter. And indeed, whole area was overheating before card crashes. Filter (power bank) capacitor on V-in for memory power controller was also overheating. I am assuming that it is not working properly due to faulty mosfets controller. I couldnt find the datasheet for uP9013q. I can see here that you have used RT8815A to replace it and it was working, Am i rite? If so please confirm that is the part you used to fix memory power issue. Also if you have any suggestion why the power for the memory is overheating it would be helpful. I was measuring the voltage on the output of memory power and it is normal on standby but as card starts to run and heat, voltage goes up until card crashes. Again, thanks for this video and for your help.

How did you find out the model number of these obscure buck converters?!
@TechCemetery3 жыл бұрын
Google, most of these buck converters have markings on them and that's usually enough to find a datasheet.

@@TechCemetery Mine are marked as AEAG 433 on my Strix GTX 1080 non-Ti which doesn't yield any results, seems more like a manufacturer's batch number. Anyways I have a similar problem to yours, 1.8V and 1V are not present and thereby preventing the VRM for Vcore and Vmem turning on. I measured all components and traces from both rails and can't really find the underlying issue, perhaps you can give me a pointer? I was able to locate and trace all the signals except for PG, EN and VCC. I am unsure what to look for for the first two and haven't bothered with the last

@@punktkomma9489 AEAG would be an NB671GQ, the "G" in AEAG denotes the year code while AEA is the marking. www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/277/NB671_r1.03-371602.pdf The 1080 Ti Strix uses NB671LBGQ-Z which has the marking "AMC" www.mouser.com/datasheet/2/277/NB671LB-1079585.pdf

@@TechCemetery Alright I'm probably bothering you with this but asking still worth a try. I have a donor board with 2x AMCH 169 which have the same package size and pin layout but I am not quite sure if that's also a NB671, my search lead a few sale listings with NB671LBGQ-Z. Could I use these as replacements if it turns out that the AEAG 433 are bad?

@@TechCemetery there are two 5v converters one is above the pci-e lane the other is right below the vrm. That below the vrm one seems to vorking when i poke the probe to the coil it shows 5v. My question is, is that a 5v converter or is really that a defect? That one which above the pci-e lane is givng 0 v.
@TechCemetery3 жыл бұрын
@@meranjana There is only one 5V buck converter and in your case, it outputs 5V. The other ones output a different voltage as these buck converters can be configured to output a wide range of voltages. The buck converter you're referring to is either 1.8V or 1V. You need to find the 1.8V buck converter and check the resistance of its connected inductor, as well as the voltage.
