Very smooth and easy to follow instructions. Took me less than 30 mins top to bottom (I accidentally ripped the double sided tape pulling the old screen away). This was perfect for doing my first screen replacement.

Thanks so much for the video. Screen went blank on an A15 FX506L-HN. External monitor worked via HDMI. Hoped, therefore, that the GPU was still functioning. Ordered a new LCD panel (part no. LM156LF2F03) . New panel in and laptop back in action. One of the easiest repairs I've done, and definitely made easier by this video.

Surprised you were so casual doing all this with the screen connector considering the battery was live, you could easily have killed the computer. Always unplug the battery even if you know what you're doing. It's a lot of work but better than having a $1000 paperweight.

​@@UbergeeksBiz He made it look easy. ASUS build quality is diabolical and shockingly bad. I hate repairing ASUS laptops. They're not even good laptops either. Which is weird because they make great systemboard's for PC's. Try a Vivobook! Takes several hours to replace that screen, minimum.

I found this video extremely helpful. However, my A15 FA506 is a slightly different model. The LCD panel in this video has a 30-pin connector and mine is a (144Hz) 40-pin version. I think it is important that people check the specific pin layout before they order their replacement panel.

@eliflores722 if I was you, I would check which connector your particular model has before ordering the part. You should be able to find the panel easily enough on eBay. The 40-pin model I ordered was a LM156LF2F03

finally got round to it after watching this again. probably 15 mins all in all. struggled with the existing tape and had to force the old screen off and slashed open my finger on the thing metal on the back of the screen. new display is working perfectly but i'm losing a lot of blood and probably won't last the day.

To help me find the specific screen, I reached out to Asus, and they pointed me in the direction of Impact Computers, which after I called them to share my model number and other details, they gave me the exact screen that I needed. The total time to replace for a goofy guy like me was less than 1 hour. Now... back to some Elden Ring.

@@bryanperez3668 nope! I didn't have to install any drivers at all. I just plugged it in, and that did it. I will note, that I always have an extra monitor in my home, so just in case I bump into screen issues, I can just connect to the monitor and do any installs or debugging necessary. But in this case, I didn't have to at all.

I just did work on my stepdad's FX506L and can confirm the steps are the same. Make sure when applying the new screen that you align the top corners into the chassis and don't go by the bottom as your reference point, otherwise you'll have a gap along the top.

I have this laptop (FA506ICB Model) and looking in the specifications of the diferent versions I realized that every single one use the same motherboard, it just changes the cpu and gpu (nvidia) version. So, my question is, it is okay if I "upgrade" the display to the 2560x1440 - 165Hz version?

Hello, thank for your video. Its very helpful. I have question. On my TUF A17 on the lower left corner, there is small little more bright light from the backlight. We successfully changed the LCD panel, BUT, I think we must have shorted the backlight power (Vbatt) to GND and now there is no backlight, I think because the fuse on the motherboard has blown. I have one suggestion and two questions: Please add an instruction to both remove DC power and disconnect the laptop's battery before replacing the screen. I realise this means you have to remove the bottom of the case Do you know what the specification is for the fuse and exactly where it is on the motherboard? Also do you know where I can get circuit schematics and PCB component placement drawing for this PC?

Hi problem is that on video missing one important information. Before connect new display must be desconected battery. I do same mistake and destroed new lcd panel not possible to flash led screen just black with shadow texture.

hey i was watching your video and I hit a snag with the tap over the ribbon getting peeled back too much . now the new and old display dont show an image and it receives power . the cables within the pins arent dislodged but how do i redo the tap over the pins to make it have contact again since you said its grounding the part . Usually if it were a mobo issue (dead gpu) the display wouldn't work even with external display or HDMI connected.

The bottom 3/4 -inch of my screen has horizontal line on it. (Checked with a different monitor and they are not present). I was considering taking it to a shop but after this I think I will attempt to fix it my self.

Did you manage to fix it after reconnecting the display panel cable? I have similar black horizontal lines at the top of my display, Funny thing is that i have always used an external monitor since purchase date and only use the primary built in display for a couple of hours when troubleshooting/bootup. I think asus really cheap out on quality parts these days!

My Asus Tuf A15 got exactly same situation as of you. I did switched to 60hz from 144hz in windows setting and it worked for me(after initial 2 hours of wait). Now each time I shut down and restart it works normally in 60hz setting. Seems like 40 pin stock display is of shitty quality and 60hz use only 30 pins and in my case I think, atleast 30 pins are working fine so I am postponing screen upgrade. Added this comment if someone want to have alternative workaround.

just lever the screen out, you can't break it any more than it is already! Use double-sided tape to hold the new screen in place

do you know about the issue of screen/LCD flickering on Asus TUF A15? bought my A15 earlier this year and currently having issue of screen flickering at the bottom part of the screen (taskbar area). Already tried resetting the laptop, uninstalled and installed graphic drives, but nothing is working. I connected my laptop to a TV using HDMI and the flickers are not there except at my laptop's screen. Any advices? thank you!

NEVER EVER Glue/stick a screen in place! There should be NO reason to have to do this, and if the manufacturer does this (ASUS DO IT A LOT) then its because their build quality is dreadful.
