Found this video to be the most detailed explaination of the repasting process for this laptop. Thank you! Also, I have one question to ask, when I repasted the laptop I did not have thermal putty or pads and I used thermal paste on the chips which had putty before and now the laptop throttles down to 400 mhz from time to time, also used HWINFO to monitor performance and it throws the PROCHOT EXT error when this occurs. CPU and GPU temperatures are fine though and much better than before, but I experience these stutters. Should I redo the process of repasting and use thermal putty? Or could it be related to something else? Before repasting the laptop was performing very poorly, but never dropped to 400 mhz.

@@uFixTek Thanks for the suggestions! I'll order these and redo it again. Do you think 20g of thermal putty will be enough for application with more generous amounts? I used a gram and a half of Kryonaut covering all these with a thin layer, and a temporary fix I found was to limit the CPU to 76 degrees, after that no throttling occured again while gaming. Already subbed and liked, u deserve it!

It's my pleasure my friend. much appreciate the support, yes even if you limit the CPU that is fine for the CPU, but those other components need the putty, 20g should do the job, you don't really need to clean the paste on the components ( i would leave it on because it is a layer of thermal paste it will help the putty.

Hi Is it okay if i just apply thermal paste for the cpu and gpu and for vrams and other things, i will apply thermal gel on a later date? Or is it like once i remove the heatsinks everything needs ro be reapplied?

Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or do both! Regarding your question, every time you remove the heatsink, it's important to clean and reapply thermal paste to the GPU/CPU. Never use thermal paste where thermal gel or thermal putty is supposed to be used. You can carefully collect any excess thermal gel that may have been pushed out from the VRAMs and place it back on top of the components. However, it's recommended to use new gel if you can't collect enough from the surrounding components. Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both! Regarding your question, it's important to use thermal paste and thermal putty in the appropriate places. Thermal paste is ideal for areas with direct pressure contact, while thermal putty is designed for areas with gaps, where it can maintain its shape and not spread. Using thermal paste instead of thermal putty can lead to high temperatures on V-RAMs and may cause the power regulator to overheat and become damaged. If you have any more questions or requests in the future, please feel free to ask.

Hi sir, I have some problems opening the heatsink screw. The screw is kind of normal, but it won't budge. Is it because my screwdriver is too small? And my plate that was sticking on the ram was undone; how can I stick it on the ram again?
@uFixTek Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or do both! Regarding your question, here are some corrections and suggestions: Use a larger handle and a longer Philips screwdriver. Apply more pressure while pressing down on the screw and twisting. About the RAM, those plates are unnecessary. You don't need them, and the RAM sticks will last forever without them. You won't experience any performance issues without the plates. However, if you want to reattach them, use thermal adhesive tape. amzn.to/46zPvtT Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

the issue that you facing is a GPU failure, the solder joints under the GPU are cracked and needs to be re-flowed. you will need to follow this steps exactly how i mention it: #1. remove the entire motherboard and place it on the wooden table, no heatsink nothing connected pure motherboard on a table. #2. make sure there is no fan blowing or air condition turned on #3. use a hair dryer set it at max heat and medium air flow, place it directly over GPU with a distance of about 1" #4. keep it there for 8-9min #5 let it cool down on its own for 15 min #6. repaste and it should fix the issue

Thank you for your valuable feedback! If you'd like to show support for the channel, feel free to give us a like, subscribe, or even both! In response to your question, after providing this service for our clients consistently, especially those engaged in animation and rendering, we've found that servicing the laptops every 8-10 months works well. Here's a simple way to determine when your laptop needs servicing: I recommend you start with the first service now. Keep track of the date you performed the service and attach it under your laptop. After using it regularly for 8 months, follow these steps: Open it up, check the thermal paste to see if it's still pasty and hasn't dried or started bleeding (resembling a water-like substance). Examine the condition of the fan and the heatsink's ventilation. Based on your observations, you can adjust the service interval. If the thermal paste is in good condition but the heatsink is clogged with dust, consider decreasing the interval. If the heatsink is clean without dust but the thermal paste has dried, also decrease the interval. On the other hand, if the thermal paste is in good condition and the heatsink is clean, consider extending the interval for the next service. I hope I've explained myself clearly. This approach will help you find the optimal service schedule tailored to your specific usage and needs.
