@BijanJamshidi4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Well I suggest getting something that’s 120 or 144Hz to future proof for PS5 since you can’t take advantage of that on a PS4. I’m not sure if you can do 120 on PS4 though.
@rudenutt4 жыл бұрын
@@BijanJamshidi OK yeah I get that. If I were to get this one say to use it for PC in the future, would it still work alright my PS4 or would it not play well, it would just sync up to the ps4s 60hz right?

@@rudenutt Correct. Any monitor will work up to it's max specified refresh rate. So even if you plug it into something that's not capable of running at that refresh rate, the monitor just won't run faster than the output device can.

I got a question. You probably know that in some games you can select the refresh rate of the monitor in the settings. If you overclock it to 280hz, is it even going to show up in the game settings or the max it will be 240hz? Hope you get what I mean. ( For example in GTA V you can chose the refresh rate, between 60,144,240. Will the 280hz show up in the menu?) Cause for my 75hz monitor it doesn't show up more than 60hz in the settings in gta v
@BijanJamshidi4 жыл бұрын
You should be able to as long as the game supports it. Most will, but some won't. CS:GO, GTA5, Valorant and such should have no issues, but a game like Escape from Tarkov is a different story where you're capped at 120Hz, which really doesn't matter since the game is so poorly optimized in the first place it's impossible to get over 120 consistently.

Just bought it--through the link of course :) I was going to wait until the 27/1440/240 monitors came out later this year, but my broken 9 year old monitor just started to annoy me too much. Of course, due to human malware, it still won't be here for a month or two. I figured if I want to go higher resolution in the future, I can turn the VG259QM to portrait (I have limited space for my monitors).

Absolutly nobody told about another fact - this "280Hz e-sport" monitor is still cheaper than Aorus KD-25F and Benq Zowie XL 2746S (latest model with upgraded DyAc function). What the hell?

Amazing review man, exactly what I was looking for! I'm getting ready to pick one up and found it on BB for $319. The model number is slightly different though, VG259QMY. The specs look identical so not 100% sure what the "Y" is about.
@11blakex4 жыл бұрын
I have the exactly same question, do you have an answer now?
@BijanJamshidi4 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, there’s no difference. I think the Y model may just be a best buy seller model number.
@JD4WD4 жыл бұрын
I spoke with ASUS support, they stated that the “Y” model is the US version and the other model is sold globally. They also said that there are no other differences. I just ordered mine, it will be here in a few days 😁

I bought the Y model from Best Buy and they are 100% identical. Instructions even say VG259QM and OSD menu displays the same

getting it to work using VG259 as the screen, but it doesn't stay and seems to have wave band problems, flickering, etc. - using HDMI but flickers or goes out all together. Thoughts?
