It's about time the front panel connectors on the mobo were updated to support some sort of a single one-way-fit cable. Even being experienced with PC-assembly, I can assure you they're way too fiddly, and sometimes fall of after transport or are accidentally pulled off when you're working in the case. Outdated solution. 😕

Great show of the board. Did receive this a few days ago. Plenty of other good X570 boards out there but it was the passive cooling of the chipset that tipped my decision this direction. The Gigabyte Aorus Extreme also has passive, but I just like Asus boards better generally. Still waiting for my 5900X though. And my RTX 3090. And my 980 Pro. All that waiting....

Sick motherboard. I just got the X570-E though for €259 (€229 after 30 cashback) and for the regular mid/high-end user it is fine. This board costs like double and doesn't really add much for casual users, only for hard-hardcore overclockers.

Thanks for the review. I was looking at this and the non dark. The passive chipset heatsink is a huge plus to me. Those little fans will be the first thing to go in my opinion. You spend several hundreds of dollars on a motherboard and a five dollar(being generous here) goes bad, no thanks.

I would like to point out that Asus is using a 7+1 VRM with teamed power stages, it is not a 14+2 as it is controlled by an 8 channel controller chip. This allows for quicker response, but it is inaccurate to say it is a 16 channel.

Hey what a coincidence! If you want to buy a Asus Rog X570 VIII Crosshair Dark Hero you can buy it a lot cheaper if you want to. I went with a i9 12900k and the MSI Z690 Gaming Edge WiFi DDR4 but I already bought my Asus VIII Dark Hero months before and the store sadly don't allow me to return or change it so I need to find someone who I can sell it to now. ( Brandnew, still not opened and in original package) I bought it for 408,99€ and I want to sell it for ~300 or even cheaper just say how much you would pay for it, so I don't make - 400€. If you are interested just answer my comment ;)

Aw man, I laughed so much when you pointed out the second drinks coaster 🤣, yep no one as a DVD drive anymore. And of course if your buying a new mobo you will have downloaded the latest bios from the manufacturer's website on to a thumb drive. Chances are the dvd is out of date anyway.

@@Taif_Ayad I had the MOBO for 3+ months and it amazing 100% worth it but it is expensive. I first slot is gen 4 while the other has a gen 3 in it but I can always upgrade those things later. I hardly use the 2nd slot, it just there for secondary storage.

Building a Gaming/Streaming PC is very difficult still even during this time. I was gathering parts since Nov 2020 and it took me till Feb 2021 to get the last part which was the GPU. Originally wanted a Strix 3080 but only the Strix 3070 went through the checking cart on Best Buy (had two tabs open). A friend who was helping me on discord suggested that i give up lookin for only a 3080 version and get a Strix 3070 if possible. He wasn't lying, a 3070 is good and does the work. 3080 is the norm where you want for future proof builds but a 3070 will do the job 100%. Destroys anything at 1440p too. And I play on 144 FPS or 165 depending on the game. No interest in 4k for me atm. Anyway, hope it helps.

Asus can make some great motherboards, on occasion, but they really need to work on their BIOS. It is so painful to navigate when overclocking memory.

Though I do agree with your point that they should include a USB drive with the drivers on it, I'm no lawyer or anything but I'd imagine that as long as DVD/Blu-ray drives exist, they might be required by some law to include a disk with the motherboard drivers. Or it could just be their internal legal department mandating that they do that to cover their own butts.....Regardless, I think stating that "no one has DVD drives anymore" is completely false. I have a couple of older systems, one of which is based around a 4th gen i7 Processor (4690k I think that I'm not currently using) that I installed a Panasonic slot loading Bluray drive into. I think a more appropriate statement would be that they should include a usb drive with the motherboard drivers because everyone has usb ports (including anyone that is using the motherboard you are showcasing in this video) or there are now more people that have usb ports than there are that have DVD drives.......that's just my opinion
