It's nice to see so many minor features now being added to lower end boards I wonder what sort of features have trickled down to the entry level Z97 K.

Looking forward to the audio test, if that is somewhat decent this could very well be my upgrade from LGA775. :)

The z97-AR is beautiful with silver instead of gold and a blacker PCB

As the owner of a Z87-A I think looks wise this board is a big improvement. While the gold heat sinks were not exactly winning beauty contests it was actually the yellow plastic PCI slots that were the real turn off. The Z97-A looks better but I still would have much rather had an updated version of the old blue Asus look.

Tom, are you using Sony Vegas Pro? Because I think you need to disable "resample" on your video clips (right click each clip in the timeline, go to properties and "disable resample"). Sorry if you already know about this and/or have already done it, but the video looks a little weird when there's a lot of movement (like crappy motion blur). Great video though, excited to see if Intel are finally going to give a performance increase! :)

You were saying the times when cpu's came enclosed in plastic shrouding. And had a fan on it! Good times. I have no problems with gold. I like it. The lack of matching hardware is a huge problem the emerging markets might not give ten shits about it seems.

LOL I thought sabertooth also lol! Nice preview, not really my color as far as boards go but its simple and nice, I like the round heatsink. And the (your) camera is very good, at least on my screen(s) its very clear and the color and lighting shows good, I can see everything just fine through out multiple resolutions and conversions just because I like to play around with such things lol. Basically nice camera lol.

Which key for BIOS
@ChristianNuse
@ChristianNuse 10 жыл бұрын
This motherboard refuses to run my Asus GTX 660, it keeps crashing my nvidia windows kernel mode driver. It doesn't matter if I use an older set of drivers. Also I've tried to run the GTX 660 on a different system (with a Gigabyte 990FXA MOBO) without any problems at all, as well as another GTX 550ti in this system with the Z97-A and guess what? 0 problems running it what so ever. However I'd rather not use my old graphics card in my newly bought system of course. So does anybody have any idea about what the issue may be here?

excuse me, but what are those 2 yellow things near the CPU position... recently i kinda accidentally popped it from it's place but it was back to normal right after...i dont know it it could have done some thing bad to the board...

Those are motherboard heatsinks....They cooldown your motherboard. So I doubt it would happen but If you experience some overheating on your mobo that may be the cause.

My Maximus VII Formula was affected by a lightning strike and the bios is wanky. I ordered the Z97-A board in hopes that the bios and everything will work and save all my settings. My 1909 win 10 pro that I deleted everything on a 1TB drive to install, within 2 days updated to 20H2 that they say is still win 10 pro. I would like to purchase a TPM 2.0 if it will work for this board, I have read that 1.2 is the only version that will work with this board ? I am paying $185.oo for a refurbished from ASUS Z97-A that the bios is 5 years old now. They never support bios for more then 2-3 years as they want You to upgrade. My i7-4790K Devils Canyon hits over 5K and so I hit the silicon lottery. My Ram used is going for 400 for 32gigs. I ordered the C version and it came in all chinese writting and manual, and I sent it back. This one has 7.1 that makes me think its better then the C anyway. Thank You for having this video and showing the board, I just hope it arrives soon and Merry Christmas !!!

I don't mind the gold colour, it's far better than red, why are all gaming boards designed by kids for kids ?
@diktatur90
@diktatur90 10 жыл бұрын
Ian Clarke Haha, I wouldn't get red either. Reason for it being that i've seen SO many builds in red now, its been over used. Maybe if there weren't so many red builds on the internet I might have been cool with it. As for golden, since you like it ill be mature about it and say that its personal preference. I got this board in silver color. I din't wanna get gold because it may have looked out of place, as it mostly does, since there are very few components that are made to match gold..
@ianc4901
@ianc4901 10 жыл бұрын
Silver would be easier to get matching components if you feel it's important, for sure. With gold bits on your mobo you are pretty stuck if you are looking for matching bits, the only colour that would fit is black, that's so boring and it would contrast with the brown surface of the board a bit too, you could possibly use blue at a pinch though. My current mobo scheme is blue but you don't really see much of it at all. I'm not building a show PC, I just want it to be aesthetically pleasant when I have to look inside but it definitely won't be red, orange, yellow or green ! It's just personal taste.
@diktatur90
@diktatur90 10 жыл бұрын
I was previously using a blue gigabyte AMD motherboard but sadly there was just a whole lot of blue everywhere on that board. My new board with silver and grey accents has a nice plain black surface so it goes with everything else along with my custom sleeved cables. Its a cheap motherboard but im quite happy with it. Luckily i had the chance of getting the board as well as the processor from microcenter at a cheap price. These boards cost more than double that price here in India. I can't say that my pc comes anywhere near a show build that you see pictures of everywhere, plus its not "liquid cooled" but she is still very beautiful to me. My corsair case has a window on it so i have made some small modifications to make her look prettier, some cable sleeving and custom paint on the graphic card (which sadly doesnt even show) etc but what the heck, i had some time on my hands and i decided to do something creative. I did it around 1.5 years ago and it was my first ever go at modding something. Quite pleased with the results :)
