Notices from personal experience: 1. It's easer to start open down plate from front. And back just lifted up easily. 2. I can't understand how to disconnect battery - I slide metal cover, but can't disconnect plug, not to up, not to left. (Upd: I can do this, after sliding cover you must pull plug to yourself, from PCB). 3. Main disappointment - only single-side SSD is fitted. On some SSDs chips located on both side (in my case - Kingston KC3000 4Tb). Such SSD do not fit into socket - chips on bottom side touch to the motherboard, SSD bend out and try to crack out SSD socket! Be advised! (Upd: Kingston NV2 4Tb and Samsung 990 Pro 4Tb fitted quite well and work successfully.)

If your system has UEFI then you can say that it has unlimited storage capacity. But It is having Legacy then it's only 2TB. You can check on Google by typing the name and model number of your Laptop and get to know that how much GB RAM you can upgrade. To know that your PC has UEFI or Legacy you can check you computer hardware properties and then you have to go Booting method/ BIOS type something like that, there you will see UEFI or Legacy.

The RAM is soldered, yes. But 16GB should be good for years to come.

This laptop doesn't support RAM upgrade as the RAM is soldered onto the board.

@Luis & Sarah yes, please go with the RAM version that you need. You can only change the SSD. The RAM can't be upgraded.

@@abhishekdani7 I’m not sure about PCIe 4.0 (maybe it’s works on 3.0 or even 2.0), but Samsung 990 Pro works fine (but little bit hot - it’s about 55-58 C in usual mode, and about 65 C under load). I have UX482EA (not EAR).

@@abhishekdani7 According to HWINFO64, in UX482EA it's use PCI Express version 2.0. And according to CrystalDiskMark max speed of 990 Pro is 3511 MB/sec in my notebook (as for now).

ive said it a million times before and i say it again. lpddr4x is the best memory for mobile devices. and there are no lpddr4x memory modules on the market, lpddr4x means soldered. therefore never say "pity" or "minus" or "cons", its does not make any sense.

We actually meant to say that it is pity you can't upgrade your memory. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Also, LPDDR4x memory comes with half the "real" clock speed, because it works at 64 bits in dual-channel mode. The only way LPDDR4 RAM of any sort can provide more performance than a DDR4 module in dual-channel mode, is when the former works in quad-channel.

... I needed more RAM for my new laptop, and tried borrowing the 32GB from my old UX8402ZA... Same problem 😞. Funny enough, there is a hole where the discreet GPU would be. Glad I switched to the Framework... possibly for life.
