Amazon was selling this for 800 bucks for black friday. I just got around to using it and honestly, I wish I bought 2. I have a Dell Precision 7550 for work, a machine literally 4-5 times as expensive, and to be frank, this thing was keeping up with it with the added benefit of being able to play games on it without a hiccup. It's thinner, got a better screen, managed to fit a full size keyboard and has a discrete (albeit low end) GPU. I don't think you're beating this functionality for the price by anyone even with last gen models. That being said you can tell where the corners were cut. I've experienced the same problems a lot of people have with weak wifi stability. They removed the ScreenPad from the Ryzen version which might explain the low price, but also would have been nice to have. And lastly, there is weak IO, having only 1 USB A and C port, and the C port doesn't allow for Display Output. You'll have to settle with HDMI out. As a standalone device that you don't plan on using as a Workstation with a Dock, I can't recommend it more. The best thin and light 15inch touch screen laptop experience I've ever had. But if you want something with more juice and IO, I'd still find a Precision on Ebay.

How are you liking the laptop so far? I'm considering buying it and I'd like to know how it's holding up
@k1no_2 жыл бұрын
@@lennartniehof7649 Here's my reply from the asus subreddit, hope you find it helpful! There's barely any impressions of this specific model on the web, so hopefully more creative professionals who benefit most from the screen quality and raw performance can chime in as well! The laptop has been really solid for the past month! The first noticeable thing was the amount of grain visible in dark scenes when streaming films/shows; but I later realized it's more a byproduct of the original source (e.g. film grain) rather than the OLED screen itself. Digital video blacks are a lot less grainy than blacks shot on film stock due to the nature of the media. With that in mind, blacks look phenomenal and contrast is superb. Screen is up to 400 nits according to the website and is fine even under natural light, albeit a bit glossy. I did have to change the gamma, brightness, and contrast settings a bit with the Windows calibration tool, since the default color profile gives a quite vivid and punchy RGB at the expense of crushed blacks. I'm still researching info on the default color profile that came with the laptop, but I'm happy with the current config from the quick and dirty calibration. Battery is more than enough for my usage (browsing/videos/emails at work) and can easily last you a full day with med-high brightness. I am using Edge due to its reported power savings; there is a new efficiency mode and a sleeping tabs feature that should further help too. Gaming wise I am still getting my feet wet with the PC world (am more of a console gamer really) but BF3 can easily be maxed out with 90-100 fps, and Cities Skylines as well (a more CPU intensive game). I mostly play RTSs and would like to get into a few of the modern shooters, so I'm not too worried about performance for those. Fans are not overly loud and chassis gets warm but not burning hot like other laptops I've experienced under gaming loads. Aluminum build all around feels really nice and not too heavy. The lid will get fingerprints. The hinge needs to be opened with two hands. Speakers are the most obvious underwhelming part of this laptop however. They sound like run of the mill laptop speakers with meh bass and lackluster volume. I'm not even sure they are harman kardon like the Zenbook 14 since there are no audio labels anywhere. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase a month in, even though there might be a new Zenbook Pro 15 around the corner lol.

The Pro 16X should be similar in terms of build, unless someone who owns one corrects me. Only difference between the 16X and the Zenbook was the resolution (4K vs 1080p) so I decided to compromise with the 1080p Zenbook. Screen is sharp and beautifully vivid and am happy with the choice!

Hello! I bought mine with Ryzen 7 two month ago, however the laptop was mostly in the Asus service but they weren't able to solve the problem. The problem is that when I charge the laptop while it's on (even if I don't do anything on it), around 50% the fans start to be really loud and the laptop is getting very very hot. Besides that the mouse sometimes lag while the laptop is being charged, that means when eg. I click somewhere it happens 2-3 secs late. And lastly when the laptop is charged to 80% (I set it to 80), and I unplug the charger, it sometimes drains 60% in 60 minutes, it's crazy. On the other hand there are times when it works perfectly, only the loud fans are constant. Do you have any idea what could be the problem or should I ask for my money back? Thank you in advance!

@@rohit2405_ But you can't deny a fact that 60hz is SLOW. how is that faster than a typical LCD as he claimed. Typical LCD Screen on a budget range is 120hz now

@@micalangenburg1706 slow and low refresh rate are different things lmao + 60 is ok for that kind of device, 140 hz monitors in that price range are ass quality

I do own an Asus Zenbook Flip, bought it 2 years ago, and I really like it, and probably bought more laptop than I needed, but figured better to have better specs than scraping by with something that can't keep up. This was my transition back to Windows after over a decade of Macs, just didn't want another Mac after seeing some of the BS that Apple has started to pull over the last several years. I will preface this by saying I am not a tech person, I just know basic info about computers and laptops. I am just going to ask the question, I have only had laptops with Intel processors, how well do the higher end AMD processors compare to the 10th or 11 Gen i7 processors? Down the road, I'd like to possibly have another option besides Intel, and definitely want to stick with a Windows Laptop from now on. Any feedback is appreciated.

...but You can't buy it anywhere. Pretty strange that 14x model (14") has much better resolution than this one.
