Step 1
Power down your Asus ZenFone 2.
Step 2 (Asus ZenFone 2 Rear Battery Cover)
Use the plastic triangle opening tool, or your fingernails, to work around the ZenFone 2 rear cover and release the plastic clips securing it in place.
Step 3 (Asus ZenFone 2 Exterior Midframe)
Remove the following 14 Phillips screws.
Easily separate the exterior midframe from the Asus phone.
Step 4 (Asus ZenFone 2 Battery, Loudspeaker, and Dual-SIM and microSD Card Slots)
Disconnect the ZenFone 2 battery from the motherboard.
Use the spudger to pry up the loudspeaker.
Detach the interconnect cable from the motherboard.
Remove the Kapton tape, and detach the interconnect cable from the daughterboard.
Locate the peel-to-remove adhesive tab at the top of the battery. Grab the tab and try to keep the adhesive strip flat and wide. Slowly pull the strip up and away from the Asus ZenFone 2. The strip will stretch to many times the length of the battery- keep pulling until it comes out from between the battery and the midframe.
And just like that, out comes the 3000 milliampere-hour (mAh) Asus ZenFone 2 battery.
The ZenFone 2 battery is strongly adhered to a protective metal cover, but with a little spudgering it is readily freed.
Step 5 (Asus ZenFone 2 Motherboard)
Peel up the copper tape and then pop off the metal shield.
Disconnect the display cables and signal cable.
With the spudger in hand, pry up and remove the ZenFone 2 motherboard.
Step 6 (Asus ZenFone 2 Rear-Facing Camera and Front-Facing Camera)
Release the ZIF connector and remove the 13-megapixel Asus ZenFone 2 rear-facing camera.
Extract the 5-megapixel ZenFone 2 front-facing camera from the motherboard.
Step 7 (Asus ZenFone 2 Earpiece Speaker, Vibrator, and Daughterboard)
Pluck out the spring-contact-connected ZenFone 2 earpiece speaker.
Use the tweezers to detach and extricate the vibrator from the chassis.
Lift out the daughterboard. It includes the ZenFone 2’s micro-USB port and headphone jack.
Step 8 (Asus ZenFone 2 Display Assembly)
Peel up the display cable from the ZenFone 2 midframe.
Begin to free the Asus ZenFone 2 display assembly by using the heat gun to warm up the adhesive.
With the precision knife create enough space to insert a playing card.
Use a combination of playing cards and a triangle opening tool to attack the adhesive. Take your time and apply additional heat as needed.
Once you have sliced through the adhesive, be mindful of the display cable when decoupling the ZenFone 2 screen from the midframe.
* To reassemble your device, follow the steps in reverse order.

do you have link for Asus ZF2 E- service manual (or wiring diagram)? or do you know how to check motherboard good or have short/open circuit, i already brought it to asus center but w/out even checking they said it need to change the motherboard, (i hate thing like that, confirm something w/out even checking)

I got my phone suddenly shut off, black screen, no respond at all after trying push and hold power button even for a minute. I try to disconnect battery connector and connect again, no respond yet, nothing change. I put my phone at table, I realize this phone periodically vibrate twice, every two minutes. But without anything else, no sound, no screen. I try to connect via usb to my laptop, no connection. I left it connected to usb. After 2 minutes, before it vibrate, i hear usb device connected to my windows laptop, for just two second and usb disconnected sound, and the phone vibrate twice again. I don't have any access to my phone, maybe because I put lock PIN lock on my phone. I'm afraid is not just screen issue, isn't it ? anyone know what is the problem with my phone ?

Jo Alisman It's a battery issue. Try to disconnect the battery and then reaffirm the connections.

Jo Alisman idk if you still care after 4 months but your phone is hard bricked. Use xfstk on a windows laptop to recover fastboot and then use adb or asus flash tool to flash raw firmaware. Search it up on xda
