Man, thank you so much! My ZenFone 2 was bricked. It was not doing absolutely nothing, not even vibrating, no fastboot, not anything. I just followed these instructions till the disconnect battery from motherboard part. I reconnected it, the phone vibrated, I screwed everything back in place and now it works just like it did almost 2 years ago. Thanks again, saved me some money.

Another tip: If after replacing the battery and switching the cellphone on the battery indicator gets stuck at 50% you gotta open it up again and wedge something on top of the battery connector. Some replacement batteries have pretty crappy connectors that won't connect properly and by default the phone will report constant 50% battery. Just make sure whatever you put in there isn't flammable and doesn't touch the heat dissipation surface (copper colored plate) surrounding the camera, which can get pretty hot.

Thank you! I had that problem and your tip helped me fix it. I used a little piece of scotch brite.

@Matthiassrj Dude, I would like to nominate you for the Internet comment of the year award (although you commented in 2017). Your little comment saved me from heaps of anguish. PS: I have used rolled strips of duck tape to create 2 wedges on both top leads to the mother board. PS2: The daugher board lead is safely connected since there is that little trap mechanism holding it in place.

Hey guys, if you're trying to test your phone without screwing all of these little screws back into place just to make sure everything is correctly connected (like I did), don't have a panic attack when it doesn't respond. I had to screw everything back before I could switch it on again. I don't know if it's designed this way or if by screwing the phone back shut everything fell into place again. But still, I hope this saves someone from despair.

Question 2:40 1) Is there a name for the adhesive tape/paste so that I can buy it? 2) Is it advisable to add the adhesive while replacing new battery? 3) Is the adhensive is something similar to thermal paste? Please advice, thank you
@kurosakibankai198 жыл бұрын
Kare Xun Tan I am sorry I can't answer your questions directly cause I myself am not sure if you need the adhesive tape but thermal paste is definitely not a replacement or used as a adhesive it is a compound used to disperse heat between two metal contacts.

Hello, interesting and very well done video - just one question about the kind of white silicon/rubber (sorry, did not get the name you used for it, not native English speaker) that you are pulling out before removing the battery, is there no need to put it back when mounting the new battery ? Asking as we don't see this step in your video and wondering how to do this ? Had a look to some other guides and they did not speak about this silicon/rubber ???
@Repairsuniverseusa6 жыл бұрын
Hey Laurent, thank you for your support! When mounting the new battery, we recommend using two small strips of adhesive to adhere the battery to the frame. I hope this clears it up a bit for you! Thanks again for watching!

You can thank Apple for that. Although this is still a lot easier than changing a battery in an iPhone.
@dospulgadas15786 жыл бұрын
It has its pros and cons. In case of theft, as the battery can not be removed, the tracking system can not be canceled. (from spanish using google translator)
@jgbee27266 жыл бұрын
they don't make phones with removable batteries. How else can they track you?
@dospulgadas15786 жыл бұрын
Installing an app (or that the phone already has one in their OS). For example, I work in a cyber in Córdoba, Argentina, and a desperate girl arrived for a PC. It was because Apple wanted to communicate with her to tell her they had already recovered their stolen iPhone in Brazil and that she was already being sent home. (from spanish using google translator)
@gurudattag4 жыл бұрын
One reason could be - when you drop a phone while you are in a conversation or doing something net intensive on the mobile, the removable battery falls off and the conversations stops or the Net intensive transations could fail with sometimes dangerous errors, especially financial transactions could cause losses. Maybe even corrupt the software updates that may even lead to erratic behaviour of the phone. I too was preferring removable battery phone, but now, on second thoughts, I think fixed battery is better/safer.
