I wonder why you havent noticed microsoft's hybrid mode trying to kill your laptop by melting it during hybrid sleep, which is a partially-awake type of sleep. They disabled s3 legacy sleep and using the registry hack causes some problems. Hybrid sleep kills the battery and uses it and it's not as fast as s3 because ddr5 is fast enough. Plus s3 doesnt write 8GB on your ssd each time you sleep it.

You are the ONLY reviewer I've heard talk about having the heat in the center making it more tolerable.. you couldn't be more right.. I have the 2021 model and heat is bad but if it was on the sides where it rests on my legs.. I would have sent it back. Great laptop though.. dropped mine off a 6ft tall table last night... was certain I was buying the 2022 model(Lol) - nope totally fine! Cheers mate!

I just bought this online, receiving it this Tuesday! I hope I made a good choice. The last power gaming laptop I had was the Alienware R3 M17 and it was the top tier version ($4000); i9, 300ghz, 32gb ram, RTX 3080. I loved it very much, slight glitchy with the Alienware control gaming system, the fan also blew like a goddamn 757 Boeing plane, so be prepared for loud noises. Other than that, I didn’t experience any gaming issues while having it. Sadly, I only had it for 3 months and sold it. I hope I made a good choice with this newer version from reading the reviews and feedbacks. I guess the only bad reviews were either biased or had defected/ faulty laptops. For the specs on this model ($2100 after taxes), I must admit that’s a good deal! I’ll come back to give an update this Tuesday. Update: I received it today, much earlier than I expected. My input about the Zephyrus M16, is the sleek and thin look, weightless, and the screen quality for its size. However, the heating is a problem for me; maybe because it’s such a thin build, I’d imagine why the keyboard would get hot. I’m debating to return it back, but I’m doubting bestbuy will give me that option. Again, it’s an amazing laptop. Also, don’t expect a large screen. If you want, you can connect it to another gaming monitor. Performance: 9/10 - The CPU/GPU operate extremely well. Cooling: 6/10 - The ventilation is the only problem. Display quality: 10/10 - Amazing screen quality. Design: 7/10 - Has a great matte feeling to the exoskeleton. Mobility: 10/10 - Very lightweight. Sound: 8/10 - The speakers are just what you expect; around 65-70 on volume level is loud. Keyboard: 6/10 - The light is cool and everything, but the positioning of the keys is quirky and you might need to train yourself to get use to it. Overall: 8/10 - It’s the honest opinion I can give and I only had it for less than 11hrs. Note: the RTX 3070Ti is amazing! You’ll enjoy the fresh rate. Yes, I recommend this to anyone that likes to travel with this laptop.

I usually keep it on ‘Silent’ when I’m not gaming, simply watching KZbin, movies or twitch streamers. I wouldn’t keep it on ‘Windows’ because it doesn’t cool the pc.

@@bezejmennylotr6813 It’s on low rpm, but it will keep it cool. If you’re just web browsing or watching a movie, it won’t effect your cpu drastically, so no need to have it in performance or turbo, unless you’re insecure with heating, but it won’t overheat. I usually keep it on windows mode if I’m websurfing. I’d just keep it on silent to be on the safe side.

I love everything about this computer only thing that I dislike is that it doesn't have like a sleak rog logo on the back as most rog labtops but it over all has everything I need in a small thing design computer.

Another reviewer said since M16 opens(the hinge and screen) like a thin and light laptop, the exhaust is at front of screen instead of back like the SCAR. That means at turbo mode while gaming, noise is much louder at sitting potion on the M16 compare to a SCAR 17, while noise measured the exhaust would be close. Is this true in your experience?

Great review! Even under relatively mild non-gaming loads (12-15 Chrome tabs + 3-4 PDF documents in Acrobat reader), the CPU temperature in the "silent" setting reaches 70 deg C (I have the I-7 +3050 TI version)). Even when the CPU temperature is lower (around 60 deg C), the keyboard region above the function keys feels pretty hot and it's the same for a large part of the back. Is this something common across most compact laptops? Are you happy with the thermals? Do you suggest that I manually change the fan curves for better cooling? Also, what do you think of the front vents throwing hot air directly to the bottom of the 16:10 screen? Can you briefly tell how all do these affect the longevity of this otherwise compact and efficient laptop?

I wish the heat was released more towards the sides than the middle of the keyboard itself and the display. I have had better thermal performance with other laptops but I only notice it when I am gaming and editing video so it all depends on what I am doing. I mentioned the hot air on the screen and while that design isn’t ideal it doesn’t have consequences to the display performance so I am ok with it.

When you are editing the battery life does shorten quite a bit. The 5-6 hours I was getting was with mixed computing daily but gaming or content creation will cut that in half.

Nice review, but doesn't this laptop come with 8GB soldered on? Your video showed the ram slot being full, which means if you have the 16GB option that has to be two 8 gig sticks (with only one being upgradeable). This is my biggest gripe with this and all other g15/g14/m16 asus laptops, since upgrading to an uneven number of ram results to a drop in performance.

I am thinking to get either g14 g15 m16 since it has similar desing buti notice that the cooling vent design seems to aim on the screen. The only let down still for me, it has no touchscreen. i tink every screen should have touch funkcionality and pen support, i will buy the x16 because of, this, but i like the design of this ore, matte black everythink, and the inteel 19 3080ti here, but there i got 1100 nit mini led hdr csree 360 touchscreen with pen support, 5 watt more gpu power although up to 3070ti, i dont know what will be the diffrence between the 2 portable 116 inch flagships, in games, but amd 6900 for better battery life, though no thunderbolt but usb 4, but there i get 64gb ram upgradability but worse coulors for the bdy of the laptop, and odd sharp corners for no reason.... hard to go over the m16, but those design cons couple of more pounds weight sharp corners and lesser cpu performance, not by much, overweight the m16 advantages in real life usage and also that laptop is aluminium not plastic like m16. :)
