In regards to the hot air blowing to the screen, I have Zephyrus G15 that I bought last year with almost the same situation. I had no issues so far caused by the hot air moving onto the screen.

TIP for bleeding on your m16, dont always have the brightness up past half way because these backlights are insanely bright at full brightness, less light overtime means less bleed. My unit has bleed but not noticeable

If it’s thin and light enough then a considerable sacrifice to performance is a reasonable cost really. Sometimes portability is what’s most needed in laptops. If it’s 20% lighter than a legion, then a 20% decrease to performance is a fair trade.

Problem is that _weight_ is just one part of "portability". Other end of that equation is _Battery Life_ and with just 4 hours, the M16 does not even come close to meeting most of our needs. Not to mention unbearable heat and noise during non-gaming light use due using Intel chip in a chassis with poor cooling.

You should check other thin and light in the market. I think the Asus Zephyrus and MSI Stealth GS series are few of the high end options in the market. However, at the lower end we have the Asus TUF Dash F15 2022 and the MSI Stealth 15M. It's a great alternative to both their bigger brother and definitely should be on the radar for this year.

MSI Stealth GS is almost 1kg heavier then this M16, compare to GS77, although the price is same but M16 is in I9 and gs77 is in i7

My Razer Blade 15 recently stopped working and I work as an editor for a company so I needed to get a machine and I decided to get this laptop. It has been amazing to me to as I work with the Adobe apps primarily after effects and premier, no photoshop because I use procreate instead. I alos love to game on my free time, I play Apex Legends and I have over a thousand hours on it so it was very important to me that I could get great consistent frames, my razer blade 15 with rtx2070 couldn't really maintain constant 144fps but this one never deeps under 165fps while running on the map, it is mazing. Also I like to play single player games and get the best experience (graphically) I have been playing Elden Ring and the game runs very smoothly compared to my RB 15 and the fps are consistent. Control also runs amazing with RTX and everything set to max, always being above 60fps. Overall working and playing on this machine has been a great experience, I always work and play with headphones so fan noise doesn't really bother me, but I would rather deal with noise that deal with components than run hot and will have a shorter battery life. Also this machine looks discrete at the office which helps me look professional. As someone that needs the versatility of a laptop so that I can easily get feedback on my work from my bosses this machine has met my expectations while also providing me an amazing experience. One thing is my keyboard backlight is weird on the "B" and "Space" keys when the light is not set to red, they flick a little on color hue, which is not a big deal to me lol the red color works just fine so I just us that color when I need the ight lol Amazing machine, great render times and absolutely beautiful screen t play games!!

I got the one with i9 and RTX 3070ti with 16gb of ram but I expanded it to 40GB. I know this is not ideal but my sticks have the same speed and that seems to help a lot as I definitely noticed how premier would run better after I upgraded the memory, honestly if you work creating content it is 100% worth it. Again, just make sure your DDR5 sticks run at the same speed

Hey! I wanted to say thanks, your review vids for a ton of laptops have really helped me to find and compare the best laptops to find what fits me best. I'm planning an on the go animation work station, and after a lot of comparing the m16 honestly looks like the best fit for me. It was a close call between the M16 2022 vs the Razer Blade 14 2022, both with 3070 ti's (I know your razer blade 14 review had a 3080 ti but as you've said in other videos, its a marginal difference between a 3080 ti and a 3070 ti in a laptop because of thermals and power draw) with the two laptops. It mainly came down to CPU performance, and the M16 really is better for it compared to the Blade 14, especially for work programs since I'd be using Toon Boom Harmony for 2d animation. Edit: I should also note size and weight were a big thing, my main cut off for other laptops was needing to be 2 cm thick or under, that and price, under $4500 Australian dollars

I have i7 12700h 3060 model.. and yeah, talking about that stiffness while trying to stick in usb-a port - I also had that issue. I thought that it was a faulty copy. But after few tries it all ended good.. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Sort of USB-A port virginity I guess 😁

With Intel XTU it is possible to tweak the CPU up to 135w in PL1 and PL2. My M16 could only run like 8 seconds with 135w. Highest stable was 110w with a cooling pad and Turbo mode.

I work editing videos and I love to play, I can confirm this machine is excellent for both. I work with very heavy projects on premier with 4k videos and multiple tracks and this machine handles it like a pro. I also do pretty hardcore gaming sessions of Apex or Elden Ring recently and the experience is aas good as it can get with a laptop lol. I have a set up for gaming with a screen so I often forget my games are running on a laptop lol

I have no clue if the hot air will once make issues but im probably gonna make a 2 year warranty extension because of that. keeping the laptop closed while using with external monitors so that no hot air gets onto the Screen.

Asus thin skinny fans are terrible. After 3 months of use is useless. A little bit of dust and is done! Just terrible! Has huge problems on my Zephyrus with overheating and throttling at 95 degrees. Sold it after 1 year. I had the i7.

@@DarkPhychic I bought the 3070ti version. I was planning to get the 3080 but they say there are no significant difference since it's a thin and light. I would also recommend the 3070ti since you'll add just a few bucks from the 3060. It's depends on what you're using it for tho, maybe 3060 is enough 🙂

I'm very confused between M16(2022) and G15(2022) My concern is if I choose the M16 does the heating issue will slowly make laptop worsen in upcoming years or it can be managed by keeping a cooling pad? And with G15 this year's amd performance was not better than Intel.But Intel have the heating issue so what should I buy? And the 300nits display is enough? Because most of the time i used to do my work inside my home. So what's your opinion?

I didn't check new ddr5, but in ddr4 memory 8 + 32 gb means that firtst 16(8 from first stick, 8 from second) will work in dual channel, then other 24gb from second stich will work in single channel

As much as I love the ROG brand, I’m still waiting for the Lenovo Legion 5i Pro to actually have stock. Not crazy about the low screen brightness of the MSI Although I do really want to see his review of the MSI 66.

Unless you really need the new one, I'd go with the legion 5 pro 2021, (5800h, rtx 3070, 2500×1600p, 165 h, 16" 16:10). I saw it back in stock for $1400, whereas most laptops this year are $1800 for the base model with a 3060, and over $2000 for anything else.

I get absolutely no tearing on it, mux on or off, and it has adaptive sync plus enabled by default giving it variable refresh rate even below it’s normal minimum of 48hz.

Just got this laptop. My speakers work with Pop_OS!, however, the volume control doesn't seem to work properly. The volume sliders don't control the volume, but rather control the high frequencies/treble speakers. Did you experience the same?

That M16 model is my go to option for a laptop, but it's nowhere to be seen. It's either completely gone from stores in my area or being sold at ridiculous prices, so I'm hoping ASUS will throw more of them in stock. Btw I'm a bit worried now about that GPU throttling and bad speaker/mic/camera stuff, hope its just a problem with 1 unit. because the only other laptop I think is worth bying for me is Duo 16 for that gorgeous miniled screen (which isnt in stock as well).

I have the BestBuy model. 16GB is not a problem for me though everyone else has ripped it in the comments about the soldered ram. screen is fine so far with the air "blowing" onto it, i haven't noticed any issues. the only odd thing is I found some models came with the Samsung OEM NVME which is equivalent to the 980 Pro, but the BB model comes with a Hynix or something that isn't as good. I swapped mine out for the original 980 Pro tier. BTW @Jarrod'sTech, do you have any good suggestions for manual mode tweaking, fan curves, tdp and all that?

QUESTION. Anyone knows the case of replacement the interior (keyboard) panel from G15 to M16? To get rid of the fingerprint magnet. Found that GA503 and GU603 both have the similar size interior panels, but different size (or structure) of the screen lids.

Hey Jared. Any reason that NO ONE, seems to review any of the SAGER/CLEVO laptops? For instance the Sager NP8872. All these machines are unrestricted wattage machines. I would have thought they would be quite popular with gamers.

Asus M16 (2022) 3060 1TB, 16GB DDR5 vs Asus 16x pro (2021) with Ryzen 9 5900HX 3050ti and 32GB DDR4, 1TB. Which one do you recomend? I will use laptop for studying IT, programming, sometimes video creation. I don't play games, so it will be more laptop for business tasks. For me it is important to run all kind of aplication and have 100% substitute of desktop.

It does not, they removed it in the G14 and maybe some others because now they have cameras with Windows Hello.

Just ordered a 16gb (2x8gb) i9 version of this. Im kinda concerned about what you said about the memory since im a content creator who will jump from adobe products from time to time. How worse will be the performance if i added a 32gb ram and make it a total of 40gb? Need help on this 😥

TUF Gaming F15 2022? In my country it is very difficult to find a laptop with anything above a 3050 while not being inflated to the brink of popping IF said device even shows traces of it's existence. I recently found a Lenovo Legion 5 with a 3060, a 5600h and 512gb ssd for like $1600 USD on a seemingly national computer store site. But most recently I found the new Asus TUF Gaming F15 (2022) with a 140W 3060, a 12700h, 1Tb ssd and running 16gb of DDR5 for a bit less than $1500 USD in Walmart... Very tempted. Is a review of the F15 coming? or more importantly, should I go for the TUF F15 or the Lenovo Legion?

Do you think I should go for the M16 or G14? Both seem very compelling and I just couldn't decide. I need something that is portable and can carry around all day without the charger. G14 seems better but it only comes with a single slot for SSD which might be a problem in the future

My M16 can barely reach 5 hours with that "large" 90Wh battery. If you don't mind Radeon graphics, I'd suggest you go for the G14, it's a lot more power efficient, and it looks better than the M16.
