I just ordered the ROG Destrier. Let’s see how it compares to the Herman Miller Aeron and other office chairs I’ve been using at work. I think this chair looks like it took a lot from the Herman Miller but at half the price. I think this will be a good chair. I’ll leave my thoughts once I’ve got it.

This is perfect for the Philippines, especially during summer. I never looked to buying any gaming chair because they always look and felt hot, especially with the faux leather ones. Like sitting on one for a long time will make any skin in contact very sticky due to sweating. I have an office chair with beathable mesh. The ROG Destrier will definitely be in my wish list.

Looks good, it would fulfill many of my needs, but i do miss the fact the seat doesn't tilt. Which is also important for me, because of physical problems in my pelvis. I also play guitar seated because of that, mostly with one armrest removed, but the way how they can be changed might be beneficial.

Finally a gaming chair that looks to be going in the right direction. That 360 arm is really smart. Things i don't like: Armrests following the seat pan depth adjustment. Only the seat pan should move and the arms stay, if you're tall, the already pretty damn forward armrests will be even more so, especially since when you adjust them upwards they go forwards as well due to the inclined design. Seems like only the backrest tilts backwards, while the arms and seat pan stay kind of neutral, wich is not great (watch a herman miller aeron tilting for reference of a great synchro tilt), as you can see, when he tilts back, armrests stay waaaaaay too far forward even when turning them 360. Armrests having that cutout only for looks, doesn't seem like it will help anything for comfort, might get uncomfortable in long sessions with pressure points. Lumbar suport seems like only a hard plastic, it should have some kind of cushioning. And its height adjustment seems to be pretty loose by the video. This chair looks like the right direction gaming chairs should go, seems much more ergonomic and the looks are quite gamery without looking excessively ridiculous, especially if you take off the "accoustic" panel. Seems like one of the best gaming chairs I've ever seen, much better then that sorry ass dx racer air pro.

@@TheBebe666 tried all steelcase chairs and HM's embody and aeron and they all were dissapointing (the aeron were somewhat fine, but the hard frame is the deal breaker sadly. not worth to try to work around this issue for such a price). All these chairs were either a pain in the ass (quite literally) or felt cheap for over 1k (specifically the embody, plus this chair even missed a lumbar adjustment which is so bizzare for a chair you are supposed to find your perfect posture in but not every persons pelvis is the same and can adjust to pressure the same) this destrier or the steelcase karman might be the last hope.. I only hope the seat of the destrier is really as big as they say and that the frame on the sides of the seat 5:23 are not a real issue, because they don't look to be flat (hope the seat is wide enough, like at least 55cm)

@@drulezzz Amazon, the model I got was called sihoo mesh, think they are currently 250 pounds, bouilles also do a similar chair for 220, I can't say the quality on the bouilles chair but it look exactly the same as the amazon one, so I imagine it's the same factory and quality

2 big issues that will deter me as a buyer: 1. Price. 1k+ (Singapore dollars) for a chair that only has basic typical ergonomic chair functions and also missing leg rest which a lot of lower end ergo chairs have. 2. Warranty. 2 years from Asus is not long enough for a chair. And to slap a 1k price tag on a 2 year warranty is even less appealing. I do support ROG where I can, but these things are beyond justification. Sadly.

I think this chair is very well thought out. By the quality of the components used, it appears to be robust, which is important for this type of investment. Even though I have not enjoyed using it, I do believe that it should be very comfortable to use. However, on a chair advertised at a certain price, for me it lacks two essential things. I don't understand : - why the seat angle cannot be changed (tilted at the same time as the backrest) in order to keep the same comfort at the level of the pelvic girdle, thus being 100% ergonomic ? - nor why the seat cannot be moved forward or backward to adapt to the morphology of each person (entry-level ergonomic chairs have this option) ? With the proliferation of offers, the label of "ergonomic chair" still responds to features that today are becoming more and more accessible to the general public.
