Thank you for this video. I'm looking at an RT-40 and wanted to see how people liked their ASVs.

My Takeuchi dealer had a used 2019 RT40 with cab and heat on their lot a few months ago and only 420 hrs on it they gave me a great deal on it. We use it a good bit, definitely grades nice between houses with little space. It is a really nice machine, definitely has plenty of power.
@DMountains4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the review. I’ve been researching track driven skid steers and according to all reports ASV out performs everything else in the horse power ranges offered. If you had it to do over again would you get a different model that has more horse power?
@triplesticks4 жыл бұрын
If I was moving large volumes of dirt, or lifting and moving pallets around every jobsite I would. I think my next skid steer will be the asv rt-75 because it has a 2,600 pound lift capacity and can doo both of those well.

@@triplesticks Agreed. That is the sweet spot (for most) in their lineup. Plus they tend to hold their value even when they have a lot of hours in service.

How does the 4 in 1 bucket operate?
@sstocker31 Жыл бұрын
I think this may be the perfect machine for me to help around the yard....we just bought a new home and will need to do landscaping and snow removal....at 62 YO I really don't feel like shoveling a substantial driveway and pad. I was looking at a bobcat S150 or S185 , but I'm thinking those would be overkill for what I would need....The little ASV seems just right. In my younger years I probably put on around 5000 hours in a bobcat 743/843/963 so I'm quite familiar with skid operations, just not with ASV.

How fast do you think those tracks could go under "unorthodox" conditions without breaking apart?
@triplesticks4 жыл бұрын
Im not sure.
@markhall34342 жыл бұрын
The newer RT25/RT40 suspension designs are bullet proof.. won't throw a track. I've heard they actually guarantee it won't throw a track. Threw a track on an older RC30, but obviously the track tension was way off. On the RC30, you remove the rear outside track wheel (Not hard) to put the track back on.

TSL, I believe you have a 4 way bucket for your RT-25 in some of your Vids.. Where the heck did you get it? MTL has a nice one, apparent decent price, but Out of Stock... All I see in 48" are the Stand on Stuff.. $2300 is a bit steep, rather get a MT50 and a blank RC30 Plate.. and weld the two. Not a fan of the adapters.. that mini skid steer plate is just too small.. rather cut it off, and weld it to a blank plate.
@triplesticks3 жыл бұрын
I have the CID 4 in 1 but it had the bobcat mt85 mount on it so I had some come and modify it to fit my rt25 I would agree with you on the adaptor plate. I really only used it for things like trenchers, power rakes and a soil conditioner.
@markhall34343 жыл бұрын
@@triplesticks Thanks, One Question first: Were the hydraulic couplers the same size between your RT25 and the MT mount bucket? The original RC30 has smaller couplers than the RT40. Yes, been looking at a possible modification. The CID looks VG, decent price for the MT50 mount version.. I'm sure I could cut/bolt/weld the entire thing to a blank RC30 plate, Ideally keeping it compatable with both attach standards. The attachment suppliers should do us a solid and provide the RC30 option at maybe $50 more. CID is probably what I'll buy. I don't get it.. that new SK3000 standon weighs 7000 Lbs! The Cost of those standons is Over the Top.. often more than ASV.
@markhall34342 жыл бұрын
Update: Regarding adapter plates. most attachments charge a lot for the RC30 plate version. Twice I've had great luck buying the mini skid steer small plate attachments and welding on the upper ear and bottom latch plate onto existing mini skid steer attachments. The larger RC30 adapter fits entirely outside the mini plate. Effectively making the attachment fit either mini or RC30 adapter plates with No Adapter Req'd. A few places to trim the attachment for RC30 latch lever clearances.

IT has a market for it. Under 4000lbs, a 1/2 ton pickup can easily tow that job to job. its small to get into tight spaces. IT all depends on what you plan on using it for.
@flat6fever6802 жыл бұрын
@@mph5896 Exactly. People dissing this are missing the point entirely. OBVIOUSLY there are thousands of more capable machines in terms of what can it lift etc, But this you can tow or haul with anything and you can see the cutting edge while you are working unlike many walk behinds. This is a niche machine. I want one for the low ground pressure and ability to float over soft surfaces and for the tight spaces. If you don't understand this then you don't have the need for it.
