I have a question I really need answered. I never had a problem with my blood pressure through the 60 years of my life, and in fact, my blood pressure was always a little on the low side. Then, just recently, all of a sudden, I had a blood pressure of 201/116!!! Went to ER and they seem about me right away due to the blood pressure was considered “a crisis”? However, all blood work and lung X-Ray were normal. I was given B/P medication and told to follow up with family doctor. Even with the B/P medication, I still wake up with these high blood pressure readings…every morning. Why?????

I only have high bp around my period. It was determined that I have hormonal hypertension. I have had MANY ecg and that lead to my hormonal hypertension diagnosis. I take Bystolic 10mg for the 2 weeks it's present. If I don't keep it controlled for that time, it causes migraines. I was labeled as having white coat syndrome as well.

Thank you for sharing. It's something I can share and suggest testing when I see a cardiologist.

Nice talk on hypertensive emergency. I have white coat hypertension and first time I have seen the stat that having human interaction raises BP by 10 to 15 mm. I actually prefer manual checks to machines but it is interesting fact

Is Htn really affecting more people or do data reflect change in definition of htn from140 systolic to 120?'

No intervention for 30 min? The problem is that patients get upset when you let them wainting and don’t do anything for that time

I would highly challenge the notion of no Ecg for asymptomatic markedly elevated blood pressure and suggested no benefit, silent mi needs to be precluded . Otherwise great lecture thanks
